Dennis Hickey introduction live blog

The Dolphins will introduce new general manager Dennis Hickey at 4 p.m Tuesday. That calls for a live blog!

As I have not been here with you in a very long time and as there is a live event, I believe this would be a good time to share thoughts, analysis, opinions, insights as the new Dolphins GM makes his Dolphins debut.

I will be in the comments section for the start of the presser. Join me there.

When dealing with that pepperoni, yes.

So Seattle is vastly superior to Miami in every category except the two at the end that are heavily influenced by Qb play and yet Miami is 8-8 and Seattle is going to the Super Bowl because Wilson is vastly superior to Tannehill.

Thank the Lord you finally get it you Canadian simpleton.

Why is it called Canadian Bacon, when it's just ham? Ham is great, but, not as good as BACON!

Posted by: Mark in Toronto | January 28, 2014 at 03:26 PM

Wow, this perfectly explains why the Seahawks were merely a .500 team prior to Wilson's arrival. Then Wilson:

2011 No Wilson

2012 Rookie Wilson

11-5 and 2nd rd of playoffs

2013 2nd yr Wilson

13-3, SB

Hmm... seems the Seahawks greatest success goes hand in hand with Wilson's arrival. Even a blind man can see this. True, he isn't a stat machine, but, he's for damn sure a WINNER!

Guess he'll really stuff a sock in that over bloated mouth of your should he win his first SB ring Sunday. But I'm sure you'll find bloated fact to dismiss this too.

Posted by: Texas_Dolfan | January 28, 2014 at 03:29 PM

Right you are no expert. Look again. Thill was 24th Wilson was 7th.

You are looking at another stat mate.

Looks like the fat that's clogging your arteries is affecting your thought process.... detect sarcasm.

Wilson is a product of a good running game and a great defense. He is great when he is flushed from the pocket and averge when has to stand tall.

put him on the dolphins and were no better than 8-8.

Still some upside on T-hill but this year has to be it as decicion time for him and Philbin. I would draft a Qb in the later rounds this year as a project as Moore and Devlin are not the awsner.

One thing is for sure, Russell Wilson was an absolute steal in the 3rd round, 75th pick in the draft. Can't imagine anyone arguing with that one!

And marco's tag team partner chimes in with another idiot post.

So Wilson made the Seattle defense #1 across the baord and the running game #4 in the league all the while conducting the 27th best pass game in the NFL ... WOW, he's out of this world.....

YG, ur another idiot... the king idiot actually... Marco is more like the crown prince ... but he aspires for your throne.

1. Drafted 3rd rd.

2. Made 2nd rd of playoffs 2nd season

3. Makes SB in only 2nds season.

1. #8 overall

2. 7-9 rookie season. No playoffs

3. Chokes final 2 games to miss playoffs.

Armando, ask him about the play calling. Himself? Input from Philbin, let Tannehill call a few of them?

lost the argument? According to what? I didn't even address you except to call you a puke or fat italian sausage.

I would gladly debate with people here i like to debate with.

You, ur shite. I have no time for you except to call you u a fatt fukkkk. no slag off.

Mark shows us his RACIST self and true colors when he is beaten.

You really are a simpleton and a RACIST A-hole. Are there any other races you would like to attack you d-ick ? Now I would love to meet you, you spinless RACIST WIMP.

I'm just happy that meatball-eating Italian didn't come in as GM.

Those knuckle-dragging gorillas are only good for tossing pizza dough and lifting heavy boxes--NOT running a damn football team worth a billion dollars.

Sparano, Aponte, Olivadotti...enough of those idiot greaseballs.

haha, Marco, you wouldn't stand a chance...

evans, throw Marco in your lot...

OK, Wilson make the ProBowl this year and last. And was named Pespi NFL Rookie of the Year last year (for what that's worth).
So it seems folks who are actually part of the NFL think Wilson is better too.
But enough of that, I have hope and faith (blind) that THill will do fine next year. Wilson was more polished than him coming out of college. So it's just taking THill a bit longer to get there.
Another thing I think no one can argue is that Wilson is better coached!

You forgot Pasqualoni again...

Amazing, the Tannelust for Tannebust. Not a sane nfl fan in all America would compare Tannebust to Wilson.

Unless, of course, he numbers in the completely deranged of Dolphins fan. Year after year, of complete incompetence. Year after year, of blind homer false hope. You homers really need a hobby. :)

I want to find out Hickey's opinion of James Buchanon, the 15th president of the United States.

History has ranked him as the worst president of all. I say Franklin Pierce was less effective.
Isn't the worst president of all time currently in office?

So Benton is Turner's assistant? How's that gonna work? Benton's forgot more about O-line than Turner will ever know. Maybe Philbin knows something about the 'investigation'. Or maybe Philbin can't bring himself to fire Turner.

Agreed mass dolphan. Getting a SB QB in the third rounds was a gem.

getting Lynch was equally brilliant.

We need a couple of those.

Mark you RACIST A-hole, you have never been able to debate rationally with anyone surrounding Thill.

The Henne Wrecking Crew were the same. I used to get attacked on here on site by Bill A and his fan club, nows its the Thill collective thats fine.

However MIT, is a RACIST scumbag. The lowest of the low in Toronto. Guess you thought Marino was a greaseball too you simpleton ?

Isn't the worst president of all time currently in office?

No, "W" has been out of the Oval Office since January, 2009.

haha, Marco, you wouldn't stand a chance...

Posted by: Mark in Toronto | January 28, 2014 at 03:51

I could knock you out with a miss.

Marco, I grew up on St. Clair in Toronto in teh 1980s, if you don't know what that means, look it up.

I am simply twist your dials because I hate you... I'm sitting here laughing as you get all knotted up...

i debate rationally with rational people.

I treat you like I treat YG .... figure out why that is...

Lets throw out all of Tannehills bad plays and then evaluate him.
Posted by: Homer | January 28, 2014 at 03:00 PM

U mad bro?

Oh, yeah...Pasqualoni. Forgot about that Goombah halfwit.

They should all be in a zoo in New Jersey where children can throw peanuts at them and laugh at their stupid antics.

You may knock me out with your stink since your too fat to wash your back - use the old rag on a stick there ...

Posted by: Marco | January 28, 2014 at 03:53 PM

Pity MIT, man. Only those as sick as him find him amusing. These types are KINGS only in their own minds.

Thank goodness for this because it makes for an awfully small grid that they rule.

Marino is a dumb greaseball, was there any doubt about this overrated post season choker??
wait i think jax just scored again, now 69-7!

Cant the canadien find a canadien blog?

If able to do it, there is no better play caller than the QB himself for obvious reasons. By play calling I mean not checkdowns but a before Game planned sequence of plays based on the opponents weakness. Few can/could do it. Peyton, Griese, the great John Unitas. Tannehill has the intellectual capacity to do it but can he?

Hello everyone.

Sorry man, but you are way off on the THill-Wilson debate. Wilson's accomplishments so far:
NFL records and achievements
2012 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year
Most passing touchdowns in a season by a rookie (26, tied with Peyton Manning)
6th rookie quarterback in NFL history to win a playoff game
2nd most total touchdowns for a rookie quarterback (30)
2nd highest passer rating for a rookie quarterback (100.0)
2× Pro Bowl (2012, 2013)
Ranked No. 51 in the Top 100 Players of 2013
Most passing yards in a playoff game by a rookie (385 yards)[80]
Most wins by a quarterback in his first two NFL seasons (24)[81]

Stephen Ross is struggling already to begin the presser. Says Hickey spent 8 years then corrects to 18 years with TB.

Mandy! What's up homie?

Hey Armando

Ross calls Jeff Ireland a friend but says he needed someone who could work with everyone in org.

How do you brainwash an Italian?

Give him an enema.

Doesnt Tannehill remind you of John Beck?

Armando, get a list of
all of the bux's rejects that will soon
be on the phinz roster.
that's how it works for the phinz?

Isn't the worst president of all time currently in office?

Posted by: Marco Rubio | January 28, 2014 at 03:52 PM

Ross says Dawn Aponte will work with and assisting Dennis Hickey.

I tried to find THill's NFL records and achievements but could not find any! So I'll make up my own:
Really hot wife who owns a gun!!
Now let's see Wilson top that one.

MassD, saw you came late to the party but all I said was that both Tannehill and Wilson were average in 2013...

Both were neither superstars, nor busts...

then I got called a liar and forced to remember that this jabroni also rags on my posts when I'm not even around...

Again, this was 2013 in isolation.

Yeah Italians against Canucks, ha ha.

We gave the world, art, music, theatre, Cars the best food in the world.

Canada has given us.... ? Processed Bacon. Cultureless Vacuum, but the Canucks I've met are more informed than you and are not RACIST scum.

Hickey says throughout the process he wanted to make sure Dolphins committed to winning and says he found people like that in Miami.

What were Hickey's concerns if any with the Dolphins organization prior to accepting the position?

Boy, do I wish I was a QB. I mean what's so difficult, on 3rd and 2, to say Omahaaw instead of omahaaw.

Armando, any chance Ross will sell the team soon?

Poor Ross, man, get someone to run this team from the top and jsut provide him with your wishes and objectives, this is embarassing...

Does anyone actually think that anything useful is EVER said is a presser?

Miss me yet guys?

Ross gave him a tie.

Ross says Dawn Aponte will work with and assisting Dennis Hickey.

With cue cards?

Hickey seems like he may be a little light in the loafers. If u know what I mean.

Having watched a few Seattle games this year I must say Wilson was running for his life in those games. He is very quick escaping pressure. Seattle's OL sucks at pass blocking and their receiving corp is not as good as the Phins.
Right now, yes Wilson is a better QB.
On to next year, folks!

Posted by: MassDolphan | January 28, 2014 at 03:37 PM

I agree with you...

Wilson had to be very quick to avoid pressure many times. One thing I really like about him is he usually uses his legs to keep a play alive. His first thought doesn't seem to be to take off downfield, he looks for a receiver downfield. It has led to many big plays for their offense.

This is why I like the Seahawks in the Super Bowl...

That and the defense, of course. And Lynch.

The presser is being shown live on miamidolphins.com so no real need to follow it here.
