Report: Cortland Finnegan to visit Dolphins

Once upon a time Cortland Finnegan was an excellent cornerback who had the ability to get under the skin of most every wide receiver he faced.

Finnegan, 30, still drives receivers crazy. But he isn't an excellent cornerback anymore.

The Dolphins nonetheless are interested in him because he is taking an unrestricted free agent visit with the team Friday, according to NFL Media's Albert Breer.

Finnegan was cut by the Rams on March 5th -- only two years after he signed a whopping five-year, $50 million contract that included $27 million in guaranteed money.

Why did the Rams cut ties with such a big-name and big-money player?

He didn't live up to his reputation or the contract.

Finnegan apparently played hurt much of 2013 which might have something to do with his diminished level of play. He played in only seven games but was benched for two of those. He finished the season with only one pass defensed and one interception.

Finnegan is not going to command big money.

He's not that guy anymore.

Pouncey was running guns, I know it for a fact. Don't ask me how I know

Sad thing is Dallas Thomas never got to see the field.
Couldn't have been worse than Jerry.

Pouncey is dangerous. The thing with him.
Does the good outweigh the bad??
Does having a pro bowl C who is young and cheap outweigh the fact hes been involved with Hernandez and bullied not only martin but brenner garner and Dallas Thomas
My answer is yes. We are starved for linemen so we will have to deal with pouncey and his off field issues

The Dolphins would be smart not to resign Pouncey. Play him this year and then cut ties with him. Pouncey is a bad guy and will end up getting in trouble eventually.

"LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE."

Guess that would be you, eh holier than thou Orlando?
Oh, I'm sorry, it would be sacrilegious to correct you. Please forgive me, my patron saint.

You guys are just a collection of nitwits who parrot anything and everything you hear from the talking heads on ESPN. In the weeks leading up to the draft you will start to include terms like "field awareness" and "hip pivot" and "initial burst" in a desperate attempt to sound as if you actually have an ounce of knowledge about any of this.

Who, exactly, are you trying to kid?

Brickhouse, I had Allen last year in my fantasy team and he was a stiff

We got 3 good DE, what are we going to do with Allen? Did you miss today's class? It was about getting good value....you see Allen as a backup DE but starter's money, it would not be a good value

Good value Dolphans, that is what we strive for

Emperor,

I agree! Keep him this year. For what he is getting paid now and with the lack of OL depth you have to keep him. However, He is going to want to get paid after this year. I would not pay big money for him. This guy will eventually land in jail. This guy is bad news. He is toxic for a locker room. This guy will probably torment all of the new OL that we draft this year. That is why we have to get rid of him after this year. We don't want all these kids to end up like Jonathan Martin.

You guys kill me with this "Holier Than Thou" crap you spew here.

The only reason many of you pass "A BACK GROUND CHECK" is because you haven't been caught yet. The rest of you have been caught and couldn't pass a background check.

ETF

Shttiest offseason ever? Hmmm.... very interesting.

I guess that means our best offseasons have never been anything to write home to mom about either.

I think we can all agree that this has been the biggest failure of FA in the History of this franchise

What a disappointment

Most spewing holier than thou crap, probably end up on the sexual predator list in your home states within the next 20yrs.

I had respect for the old fool, but after this FA, he is in the same category as Lorian...a Thief.

I thought the old fool was just bad at football, but no, now he is CHEAP...the Loria way

That is right Ross, now you = LORIA

Oh, almost forgot. Goodnight Dashi.

Yo Dickey! Grow some balls , would you?

Finnegan WAS good. Has a household name but is injury prone and no longer half the talent he once was. Kick the tires but you may need to move on.
Get the feeling that Tarell Brown or Walter Thurmond are better choices.

Oh, almost forgot. Goodnight Dashi.

Pouncey is this and he's also that. Until he has a problem with the law he's going to be on this team. He's not, at present, a model citizen but he can play football. Granted he will be on a short lease and rightly so. Yet I would wait to see what sanctions, if any, will be handed down by the league. When things calm down (just before training camp) I'd give him an extention. For his play on the field makes him deserving. Of course, there would be provisions set into the new contract that would reflect his actions in the team facility and on the street. This episode may make him grow up but if not then he's at least under contract and something can be got in a trade. At least it would stop him from walking when his contract runs out. As he most probably would if he isn't extended and being a Pro Bowl player playing for the minimum.

Oh, almost forgot. Goodnight Dashi.

I totally agree with JPAO. Adding Jared Allen would make complete sense. He is still one hell of a player. The D-line would probably be the baddest in the league (and of course baddest as in awesome)! They could even experiment with Jordan at middle linebacker. And think of the blitz packages!
Also, Zach Streif a must!!!!!!! They get him and the end pieces of the line are set. Come on Hickey relieve us from the Ireland nightmare.

Get Allen
Trade Dion Jordan ASAP
He was and still is a waste of a first and second round picks
Get something for him before he is useless
Maybe a second round pick
an extra Second round pick would be very helpful in getting another Guard or RT that will help and our D will not be affected at all by loosing Dion.

Agreed. They are working a deal to trade him for a RB.

Stop trying to make excuses for that Nymphomaniac mother of yours. Do you think she cares what color dick goes in her mouth. Seriously.

Who under estimated the QB - Center exchange?
Who's the douche that said it doesn't take time to develop?
