Players who have interested Dolphins

How about that NFL draft over the weekend, huh?

Yeah, the NFL has truly done itself no favors by being so committed to Radio City Music Hall as its only suitable venue for the draft. The reason the draft this year is two weeks late is because Radio City booked a show for the dates that overlapped with the NFL's draft, which is held at the venue.

So the NFL looked for other locations and found none. That forced the league to move the draft back two weeks. It was not a grand plan to increase attention or extend the draft's footprint.

The irony is the show that caused the NFL to move its draft back to May 8-10 never played.

It did not happen.

So pundits have two extra weeks of mocks and rumors and smokescreens. And teams have two extra weeks of paralysis by analysis and visits and workouts.

Below you will find my list of players the Dolphins have shown interest in during this pre-draft marathon period. That means some of these worked out for the team, met with the team, or visited the team.

Best QB in Dolphins History was Kyle Mackey O.K.! Had a 75% Career Comp. %

Posted by: fin4life | April 28, 2014 at 06:32 PM

I retract the statement! It was George Wilson Jr. in 66 who played under H.C. George Wilson Sr.! Was our 1st H.C./QB tandem and this nepotistic relationship that also featured QB starts from Nick Wood and John Stova compiled a 15-39-2 mark in 4 glorious Seasons between 66-70

Why is Boreland not listed? He might be the best instinctive linebacker in the draft. No on Bridgewater!

Posted by: fin4life | April 28, 2014 at 06:39 PM

You are the BUFFET OF KNOWLEDGE! Lol

Hartline is a key part of The offense. Glad we have him!

Agreed Thill struggles over 10 yards. Chad Pennington looks to have a better deep arm than Thill. A WR experiment gone wrong.

Griese was the only Dolphin QB to win a SB. Does ANYTHING else matter?

Nope.

Posted by: Jack-In-The-Box | April 28, 2014 at 06:38 PM

All things being equal given I actually saw Griese play in the tail end of his career is that alot of guys could have QB'ed the team handing it off to Zonk, Kiick & the Murk!

In 80 (I was 8) I was in the OB with my family who were Season ticket holders when the Boo Birds were coming down hard for Shula to pull Griese Vs. the Colts and there young phenom QB Burt Jones.

Shula went to Rookie Woodley late instead of Strock for reasons I can't remember and Woodley staged a comeback mostly scrambling giving way to his short career as our starter.

Tannyhole will prove all of the HATERS RIGHT by the bye week eH? JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJ eH?

Its a team sport of course with 53 other players football is like no other because of the team size. Bod Greasie did have some help though and anyone who says Marino wouldn't have won a SB if he play on the 72 Dolphins squad is a joke.

Thillbin and Thillboy should really be thrown into our bin of bad memories APE TAMER.

We call it our every time but the sad tiny boys still pray to the big pixie in the dolphin sky that Thillbin and Thill are the real deal. A lop jawed clueless coach and a weak armed 24th rated QB, who has played 6 years in this system with 2 pro-bowl WR's and a pro-bowl calibre TE, its a sad day.

1st off I gotta say that "Bod Greasie" sounds like a Porn Star or Wrasslin name! LMAO!!!! :)

That being said if Marino had QB'ed the same Bills team Kelly lost 4 straight SB's with (switching our players with there players except QB's) he goes 2-2 at worst!

"Bod Greasie"

Sounds like an Adult Entertainer, LMAO!! :)

On your Marino comment, I agree 100%! It took Reeves getting canned and Shanahan seeing that Elway needed a Run game (got him T.Davis and OL Coach Alex Gibbs zone scheme) along with a D or else he goes without a ring as well. It was Shanahan who trades for MLB Romonowski, CB Crockett while signing Niel Smith adding LB John Mobley through draft. Without these pieces Elway never wins either.

The great QB's (Fouts was another) who had to carry "finesse" teams (code for lousy outside a great QB and WR's) never get anywhere come the Post Season. Alot of fun for fans In-Season but when the comp. stiffens shown for the 1-dimensional clubs they are. I felt given rash of injuries on D the Broncos were another victim of this last Yr. (Going into that SB)

Hey Marco check this link out I guess seeing as deep ball is the most important Tannehill is better than Flacco (Super Bowl champ), Newton, and RG3. Hmmm.

just fix the oline and lb core, need a corner also

Talking about praying to pixies Marco, I not sure what makes us think they can successfully rebuild an o-line that only returns one true starter.

Albert will most likely play well but getting the other 3 right and then getting all 5 to gel is a tall order. New o-line coach or not.

Especially when you think they really haven't had the line where they want it in six years and they had more to work with.

Darkoak, you are one seriously bored individual.

No faith in Jamar Taylor dusty?

no really rick, to big of a question mark since we never got to see him last year cause our coaching staff is so bad

Posted by: S. Bruce | April 28, 2014 at 07:39 PM

Sounds like you might want to evaluate boredom bud, because coming onto a football blog just to be critical of folks having a conversation sounds like riveting stuff, not.

Yeah I'm trying to be optimistic dusty but if Philbin truly thinks you don't have to use some rookies in today's NFL he is clueless.

Maybe coaching on a team that had the luxury of a few recent championships under their belt had effected his thinking and he'll figure it out.

It is the right way to build if you didn't get fired before the players developed.

Posted by: S. Bruce | April 28, 2014 at 07:54 PM

And now the name change good good keep it up, post away.

If Martin is not there at pick 19 and we cannot trade out, who would you guys take?

lets say still there are Pryor, Mosley, Lee, Sua'Filo, Ealy, Cooks, Shazier, Bitonio...

I think I would take Pryor he looks outstanding or Bitonio which is a reach but don't want to loose out on another guy on our radar

wally, I mean who really cares? You never know what you got until you see them a couple years in the NFL. Very few rookies have any impact on a teams season. Philbin will be gone without a playoff berth and we are looking at a complete overhaul anyway. Ross was dumb for not firing the GM and HC 3 years back and again now.

Nobody ever knows jack dung about the draft. If you like anyone its because the media sold you on it.

Jared Wheeler 6.5 325 and a brawler and physical. Can stand up to the large DTs in the AFC East. Pouncey sometimes has trouble with these DTs on straight ahead one-to-one blocking.

wallyfin,

Its kind of hard to say if your not sure what their thinking.

If they in fact expect to get one of their starting guards from the draft I would have no problem with Su'a Filo. He would probably be the best guard we've had in a long time.

Same thing with MLB. They say they're fine with giving Misi a shot in the middle who knows.

Pryor or one of the WR's wouldn't make an immediate impact but both positions could stand to be upgraded.

to many a-holes here..

no one to talk football with...

Posted by: wallyfin | April 28, 2014 at 08:05 PM

I'd hope it was Shazier, but considering they haven't had him in for visit I would say it's unlikely. Mosely doesn't sound like a guy that can take on athletic guards at the NFL level.

Posted by: Darkoak | April 28, 2014 at 08:22 PM

So they only draft who they bring in? They never brought Pouncey in. Ever here of smoke screen? Not advertising what you want? Darkus, I am seriously amazed at how gullible you are. Do you believe all the soap commercials too?

Expect another pathetic season from an even more pathetic franchise. Over 15 years ad running.

Hired a "final choice gm", yet many here expect a great draft. Simply pathetic!

Posted by: EFT | April 28, 2014 at 08:26 PM

And another name change.....

sam which one is it then, if they are so dumb then maybe there 8th choice was the right one? at some point u need to use your brain. just being a hater doesnt get u far

sam thinks its bad here?? imagine being a bills, jets, clev, oak, hou, jack, tenn, dal, wash, minn, det, atl,tb,sl then or basically half the league

dusty bottom

Im not a hater, I'm a REALIST. Shame you do not know the difference. :)

wrong sam, im a realist have been for all the years ive been in here and have caught many insults from the bias idiots who think everything is great always. but your just hate on top of hate. philbin is horrible, we know that. but hickey? we havent a clue. thill, we havent a clue. those are facts. nobody has ever seen a hickey draft cause hes never done one. so why hate before it happens, cant get worse than ireland was

My wife making draft selections based on what color their college unis were wouldn't be much worse than we've done the last 6 years.

WTH do you think dolfans have been for more than 15yrs now? Geesh, you guys are becoming totally immune to the complete and total mediocrity in Miami.

no doubt rick hickey has proven to be solid so far, all we can ask for

sam then why are u in here. go be a fan of the chiefs, they havent won a playoff game since 93

Dusty bottom

Things have been so bad for so long, you just have to AUTOMATICALLY assume they will not change. I mean, what's changed in the last 15yrs?

Let's all assume everything will MAGICALLY get better in 2014. Then all hold hands while singing "CUMBAYA" as again we "mock draft in December".

sam then why are u in here. go be a fan of the chiefs, they havent won a playoff game since 93

Posted by: dusty bottoms | April 28, 2014 at 08:47 PM

Dusty, we're attacked whether positive or negative by the numb skulls here. What's it really matter why anyone's here. Mainly because we all have internet access. :)

WORLD CHAMPION HEAT, TUNING A SWEEP!

Nice 3 by Cole at the buzzer!

WORLD CHAMPION HEAT SWEEP!

Sam,

The Bucs, Falcons, and Saints are proof that you can stink for a long time and turn it around.

At least the Fins have been making an honest effort. Sure bad drafts, bad coaches, bad luck, and even bad ownership has got in the way but it hasn't been for the lack of trying.

We'll figure it out sooner or later. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut sometimes.

Watching the Heat is exilharating!!!

Looks like Hickey's definetly going O line, WR and RB which makes sense because we
loaded up on Defense last year.

Aqua, the problem is we need 3 LB's and a safety or two.

The Heat are playing against a poor team without their best player.

Posted by: Yves | April 28, 2014 at 09:25 PM

No. Problem is we only have 7 legit NFL starters on the entire roster. We still need 15 more legit NFL starters.

Stephen Morris?? WTF?? Geez this franchise has low standards. Its no wonder they suck.

I think last year was a fluke. Had we not had the oline fiasco, we would have gone deep into the playoffs. This team is stacked. I like the new OC. I think we will be the surprise team this year. I'm predicting 11-5 and at least one playoff win.

Agreed yves, Wheeler is a major liability and Reshad Jones takes horrible angles.

They are moving Misi to Mike. Hopefully we'll find a sleeper in the draft.
Mosley, Mack and Shazier are my favorites which are everyone's favorites, lol

PREDICTION:

ROSS WILL NEVER EVER HAVE A WINNING SEASON

The Heat are playing against a poor team without their best player.

Posted by: Yves | April 28, 2014 at 09:26 PM

That was a glorified exhibition Rd for the HEAT!

Az St.'s Carl Bradford can play inside or outside and would be a nice addition in Rd-3!

I don't care about Shane. Right now it's u and me troll, make a move (go ahead, make my day).

DC, did you lose the AC? Or just hiding it?

Lincoln (or if u permit me calling u by your nickname, sissy boy), u r a goddamnedfukkr. I will cut of fur head and shyte down your open esophagus.

Shane is my real name. I have gone by many, many names on here(1001+)... But Shane is my real name. I am a 60 year old stud living in fort lauderdale looking for a partner to ride my little red s2000 down A1A with... Willing to drive to hialeah if the head is right...

Where's that jackass that was babbling incoherently about the Heat being "overrated" the other day and crowing about Charlotte having a (very) brief lead in Game 1?

Where ARE you, you clueless little pantywaist? Funny how you've gone mute now.

SWEEP.
