Marino: 'I'm excited about the future'

The Dolphins this afternoon announced what everyone by now knew as fact: Dan Marino is joining the organization as special advisor.

In his role, Marino will work with the organization in a variety of different capacities, although the organization is so far not outlining what those capacities are.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role. I have always considered myself a Dolphin for life and I look forward to supporting the organization anyway I can,” Marino said in a statement provided by the club. “Stephen Ross is a passionate guy who is committed to building a first-class, winning organization.  I'm excited about the future of the team and where the organization is headed.”

Marino was at the Dolphins game Saturday evening. He obviously saw the first-team offense manage only one FG against one of the worst NFL defenses of a year ago, as I wrote in my column.

I wonder what his advice would be to get this offense going.
