ST. PETERSBURG -- It's Father's Day in St. Pete, the Marlins trying to avoid a sweep at the hands of the host Devil Rays.
Manager Fredi Gonzalez has tinkered with the lineup just a touch. After getting just three hits on Saturday -- and scoring a grand total of four runs in the past three games -- the Fish need to get something going. Wes Helms getting in today, Mike Rabelo too.
Not much news today, other than Josh Johnson will get another rehab start Friday for the Jupiter Hammerheads. Jupiter will play the West Palm Cardinals that night. Good opportunity for a road trip to the 561 if you ask me.
Will have more stuff as we go along today, but first, the lineups.
FLORIDA (36-32, 4 games back NL East): Hanley Ramirez SS; Jeremy Hermida RF; Jorge Cantu 1B; Mike Jacobs DH; Dan Uggla 2B; Luis Gonzalez LF; Wes Helms 3B; Cody Ross CF; Mike Rabelo C. Pitching today, RHP Ricky Nolasco (6-4, 4.63).
TAMPA BAY (40-28, 1.5 back in AL East): Akinori Iwamura 2B; Willy Aybar 1B; B.J. Upton CF; Eric Hinske LF; Evan Longoria 3B; Cliff Floyd DH; Dioner Navarro C; Gabe Gross RF; Jason Bartlett SS. Pitching today, Edwin Jackson (4-5, 4.06).
-- All you need is Helms: Well, the Marlins offense got a kick in the pants today, Wes Helms slugging his fourth homer of the season, bringing home Dan Uggla and Luis Gonzalez. We're in the second, Fish lead 3-0....

Hows it going George? Sorry I am joining you a little late. I did not know you had this going again this afternoon. I am trying to watch the Marlins game and some EuroCup games.

Fred tinkering with the lineup? Why am I not surprised? But I guess it worked today. Nolasco has been been splendid. You think he will be given the chance to get a complete game? With Fredi as the mananger the chances of that are none to none.

What did I tell you? God knows Fredi will not let Ricky finish the game. Sure his pinch count is up and there are two runners on, but come on two outs. give him a chance....let him do it, if he loads the bases then ok take him out
