The Marlins will try to reduce the Phillies' lead in the NL East to 2 games with a win tonight.
Here are tonight's starting lineups:
PHI-Rollins, SS; Victorino, CF; Utley, 2B; Howard, 1B; Burrell, LF; Werth, RF; Feliz, 3B; Ruiz, C; Hamels, P.
FLA-Ramirez, SS; Hermida, RF; Cantu, 1B; Helms, 3B; Uggla, 2B; Gonzalez, LF; Ross, CF; Treanor, C; A. Miller, P.
CANTU BREAKS OUT ANOTHER GLOVE
Jorge Cantu will need this kind of glove when he makes his first career start at first base tonight. Cantu, who has a 1st base, 3rd base and 2nd base glove in his locker, has played 1st base in the late innings of 5 games this season. He played 1st base in 21 games for the Rays and Reds last season.
Manager Fredi Gonzalez said he wanted to get Wes Helms, who is 4 for 9 against Cole Hamels, into the lineup. Helms will start at 3rd base.
WILLINGHAM TO BE A MUDCAT
Josh Willingham went 0 for 4 with a walk and two strikeouts in an extended spring training game in
Jupiter earlier today. Gonzalez said Willingham will travel to play for the Marlins Double A team, the Carolina Mudcats for the next 7 to 9 games. Willingham will play left field and DH in Carolina.
Willingham is expected back before the All-Star break on July 14.

I like Cantu at 1B and Helms at 3B.

Putting Cantu at 1B might be a good move. He'd be less of a defensive liability there. He's got to be.

Freddy Gonzalez was very fortunate to have Cantu make the last out in the Top of the 9th. Hiding Cantu at first could of been a huge mistake if that ball gets past him. Cantu did have some nice stretches to help the rest of the infielders and a sweet looking 3-6-3 double play. I do hope Mike Jacobs can get his swing going again.
