Say goodbye to Harvey Garcia. Garcia, another piece in the Josh Beckett trade with the Boston Red Sox, was released on Monday by the Marlins.
Garcia, a right-hander who had rotator cuff surgery and missed all of last season, made eight relief appearances for the Marlins in 2007, going 0-1 while allowing six runs over 12 1/3 innings. Garcia has not pitched this spring.
Garcia was chopped from the roster one day after the Seattle Mariners claimed another piece in the trade with Boston, right-handed pitcher Jesus Delgado, off waivers.
