Marlins/Italy B Game

10:05 am - We're underway on the back diamond for the morning B game between the Marlins and Italy's World Baseball Classic team. Former Marlins great Mike Piazza is here, serving as Italy's hitting coach.. Burke Badenhop is on the hill for the Marlins, gave up an infield hit in the first but retired the other 3 Italian hitters.

Umm...did we forget that Piazza was with the Marlins for 5 games. As great as it is to say he was a Marlin, let be real about this. He was a part of a deal that sent Gary Sheffield, Charles Johnson, & Bobby Bonilla in their first salary purge. Then they sent him to the Mets prospects...remember Preston Wilson. He was a pawn in a plan to lighten payroll.
