Manager Fredi Gonzalez said he'll use Emilio Bonifacio in the leadoff spot to start the season, but could move Cameron Maybin in that spot later on if Bonifacio isn't successful, especially against left-handed pitching.
"I think we will give him that opportunity at this point," Gonzalez said of Bonifacio. "We'll play it like that at the beginning anyway."
Against right-handed starters, catcher John Baker will hit second and Maybin will bat eighth. Against left-handers, Gonzalez said he would put Maybin in the two hole and use Ronny Paulino behind the plate.

cant wait till the opener....gonna be an intresting season.
If Bonifacio and Maybin step up and Uggla cuts down on k's , we can win division cause our pitching is among the best and Hanley , Uggs , and Cantu are pretty reliable to repeat last seasons stats....if not improve.

I don't like this move, but these things have a way of correcting themselves. I think that Maybin would thrive in a big role right away much like Hanley did.
By the way Peter Gammons just said that Josh Johnson will win the Cy Young in the National League. I didn't know the ceiling was that high.
