Carlos Martinez On His Way Up; Gaby Sanchez Sustains Knee Injury

Carlos martinez                                                                                                                                                  Right-handed reliever Carlos Martinez is on his way to South Florida to join up with the Marlins while first baseman Gaby Sanchez was already in town to see a doctor about a knee injury that is expected to put him out of action for at least four to six weeks.

Martinez will be added to the 25-man roster either later tonight or tomorrow morning, with Graham Taylor expected to head back to the minors after tonight's start against the Braves. Martinez had appeared in 12 games for Triple A New Orleans and was 0-2 with a 4.09 ERA. He last appeared with the Marlins in 2007.

Meanwhile, Sanchez injured his right knee in a collision at home plate on Tuesday with New Orleans. He was examined Tuesday in Miami and was awaiting the results of a MRI. Sources said he likely suffered a MCL sprain.

Sanchez was off to a hot start. He was hitting .345 with four homers and 16 RBI for New Orleans.

Also, New Orleans outfielder Jai Miller is on the DL with an oblique strain..

Wow that sucks (about Gaby Sancez).

I never want to see Graham Taylor pitch on the Marlins again and Carlos Martinez looked pretty good a couple of years ago, hopefully he can be a decent reliever.
