Lineup Tinkerings

Manager Fredi Gonzalez made a few changes to the lineup hoping to hit the combination that sparks the offense. Cameron Maybin is moving up to the 2nd spot, where he has hit .259 this season (compared to his .189 average hitting 8th). Cody Ross, who is slumping like pretty much everyone else in the bottom half of the lineup, moves down to 8th. John Baker goes to 5th.

"We're all pretty much struggling," Ross (.224) said of the lower half of the order, which also includes Dan Uggla (.196) and Jeremy Hermida (.239).

More on Proctor -- Scott Proctor, who is scheduled to see Dr. James Andrews in Alabama on Monday, said he'll have many a sleepless night between now and then and admitted to fears that he might require Tommy John surgery for his ailing right elbow.

"If I have to have it, at least he's the guy to have it done with," Proctor said of Andrews.

-- Andrew Miller (right oblique muscle) went four innings and threw 60 pitches in a rehab start for Single A Jupiter on Wednesday. He gave up a run on three hits, struck out five, and walked one. He'll pitch next for Double A Jacksonville on Monday.

-- Rick VandenHurk completed another bullpen session on Wednesday and said he expects to face live hitters in Jupiter within the next three to four days, with a rehab start possibility on next week's agenda.
