                -- The Marlins completed the Ross Gload deal with Kansas City, sending right-handed pitcher Eric Basurto to the Royals as the player to be named later. Basurto was a 33rd round draft choice for the Marlins in 2006.

                -- The bullpen's consecutive innings streak ended at 19 innings on Tuesday when reliever Carlos Martinez gave up a home run in the 8th inning to Mike Cameron.

               -- John Koronka wasn't the only Marlin on Tuesday returning to the majors after a long time away. Martinez was back for the first time since the 2007 season. Koronka had also been away since '07.
