Thursday Matinee -- Marlins Trying to Keep Head Above Water

Today's game will determine whether the Marlins return home to Land Shark Stadium with a winning record -- or a losing one. They're treading water at the .500 level for the first time. What began as a promising trip for the Marlins when they won their first two games in Colorado has now dissolved into a 3-game losing streak.

Here's their lineup, noting that Cody Ross is on the bench a second straight game even though he is healthy.j

Marlins: 1. Emilio Bonifacio, 3b; 2. Chris Coghlan, lf; 3. Hanley Ramirez, ss; 4. Jorge Cantu, 1b; 5. John Baker, c; 6. Dan Uggla, 2b; 7. Ross Gload, rf; 8. Alfredo Amezaga, cf; 9. Josh Johnson, p.

If Cody is healthy, he should be in the lineup -- I don't give a flying you know what about what the matchups are. Amezaga has no buisness being in the lineup and Fredi needs to be fired ASAP

Just when you think Fredi has exhausted all ways to cost the Marlins some wins, he surprises the world with yet another move to lose a game for us. I know J.J. is not on his game today with all the wealks, but his pitch count is low. And why Burke Badenhop? Yes, he has been solid out of the bullpen for us, but the guy is going to get tired eventually if you keep going to him in this situation and it is going to hurt the TEAM. We have got to get rid of Fredi before we move into our new ballpark -- This franchise can't have a bright future even in their own stadium with a bum like Fredi as the manager.
