Clay Hensley injures right shoulder

PHOENIX -- Clay Hensley injured his throwing shoulder when he struck out Sean Burroughs in the ninth here earlier tonight, and indications are he is probably headed to the disabled list.

"We have to wait and see what's wrong with him, " said manager Edwin Rodriguez. "But the way it looked, it looks like he's going to be out for a while."

Hensley refused to discuss it, walking past reporters to the training room with his right shoulder wrapped in ice. But pitching coach Randy St. Claire said Hensley said he felt a pull in his shoulder on the strikeout pitch to Burroughs.

"Top of the shoulder," St. Claire said. "He said he felt something pull. He said he didn't feel anything pop."

Hensley was making only his third appearance of the nine-game road trip, first since failing to record an out on Friday in Los Angeles when he gave up three hits and walk to the Dodgers, and fourth since coming off the disabled list on May 21 with a bruised rib and hairline fracture to his left scapula.

Clark,Know the problem? You just said "He is probably going on the DL",now I'm not correcting you for making such a hilarious statement because you are EXACTLY RIGHT. He is PROBABLY going on the DL even if he can't throw a baseball for a month and no sure thing that hanley gets disabled even if he milks this to July. Moribund minor league system can kill you.

Lou Vales

Just wanted to make sure you were aware of another horrific start by West at New Orleans.I'm assuming if he gives up about 6 runs every 4 innings or so that he would probably be worse against MLB hitters.

Jacob

Doesn't get any worse than this Loser Lou.

Keep up the good work, old fart.

Lou Vales

Jacob,Thank You.Don't forget to take your family of cheap skates to the Early Boid. Why don't you try Toojays or maybe something nice in Hallandale,or you could just visit Publix.I believe they have free samples every day.Doesn't really matter what it is the key word is FREE. Tell the truth, IF they had a Late Boird and from 2:00 AM to 3:00AM you could take a dollar off of the $6.99 Meatloaf, I bet you are there.Right?? C'mon. You can tell us.

Glags

Jacob I'm defending Lou as he can handle his own but I will say this all of his complaints (more like rants) about the minor league pitching staffs have been justified in recent weeks. You can't have a four man rotation and consistently have "bullpen days" and expect to go far. If your satisfied with mediocrity I certainly hope it does not carry over into your personal life. GO TEAM!!!

Samson's Boyfriend

Lou..thanks for your generous offer...I have been going to Stadium for Marlins games since day one..I was at the Stadium when they opened it from day one in 1987, 5 years before the Marlins even existed...Ironically the first day the Stadium opened for the public to come and check it out the Dolphins players were picketing outside the grounds because the NFL was on Strike...My fisrt Marlin event I attended at the stadium was in Nov of 92' for the MLB expansion draft...It was hosted by Andrea Kramer with ESPN televising the event live...remember a guy named Nigel Wilson?...most people don't..he was the Marlins 1st player drafted ..I remembereverybody was going Who the F...Is That?the inaugural team was drafted that day including Conine..Had a Blast that Day, my wife and I are even on the official MLB video made that day..My currant situatin is a fortunate one for a Baseball Guy like me..I have seats in sec 144 and 149..I will be there for all week day games this homestand starting with Bark in the Park with the Brew Crew tommorrow...I get there when gates open at 5:30..the Marlins are finishing BP.I watch the visiting teams BP then make my rounds around stadium saying Hi to people I know and some I've just met....It will very easy for us to meet up at stadium...let me know when your going and we'll take it from there.I'll tell you things in person that I can't disclose on a public forum like this...such as why I use the moniker I do..

Stan M

And I thought that I was a Marlin die hard. Wow, Samson. Wish I was with you for all of those games. Now living in NC makes that impossible. Maybe someone can organize an outing and we can all meet at the ballpark and start a "Loria must go" chant. As a regular, you might know who the chick is next to Loria. Wife or daughter? Her expression suggests she would rather be anywhere else.

Lou Vales

Stan, I say "Chick" as well.

Samson, Did you listen to Neil.

The radio station I'm on is WCCP in the Greenville area.Since I mover up here in 2002 I've become kind of a "call in icon" aka "chronic" but I've co-hosted a couple of times and also went solo. I stir things up so they love it. The main host actually picked the Marlins because i liked them so much befrore the season and he realizes I'm negative about every thing so he went with the Marlins. He's really great with picks and he's mad when he misses on something. Start thinking when the best time would be for you to listen between 3-7 and I'll go into the studio at that time.i believe you will be ENTERTAINED. They would never allow a guy to come into the studion in South Florida but I have established my bonafides. I'm of course "Sweet Lou."

Why don't you give it a test run WCCPFM.com.it's the flagship station for Clemson so the NCAA baseball tournament will play havoc with program scheduling as long as Clemson is in it.

JUAN YANES

Marlins manager need learn a little more. He has the blame yesterday in the defeat. Why? # 1. Vazquez is an old veteran pitcher, true, if he trowed five complete innings why sit to hope for more? in the bottom of inning # 6, he should be replaced after he allowed the extrabase hit. but what happened: Marlins bullpen was quiet, nobody warning. # 2.- In late innings everyone but Mr.Edwing knows 3rd base Dobbs is uncertain in fielding, if he has in the bench Wess Helms why not take the logical move to support defense? Please Mr. Edwing learn a little more to win in tie games not only rely on the GOOD LUCK as has happened in most games.

Samson's Boyfriend

The Blond? believe it's the wife..Would love to meet you, Stan the Man for a game, as I said I go to as many games I can...I am Jonesing for the Homestand to start, should be great..Brewers,Braves, D- Backs..looking forward to seeing a few walk-offs...The best game that I.ve been to this season was the walk-off against Dodgers,I think it was a Monday nite .The game where the ball went under the dodgers SS glove ,then Infante hit a line drive that smoked the Dodgers left fielder..Remember watching him take 2 steps in and the ball, with alot of backspin on it ,Sailed over his head for the Gamer..the whole thing happened so quick the Dodger fans left the stadium in stunned silence..It was BU-TEE-FUL...If you can make it down here let me know and we'll have fun at the Ballpark

Priscilla

I can't find Andy anywhere and i don't believe that old man who said Andy got married. I got his autograph at a game a a while back and we really had a lot in common. He went to North Carolina and I went to Broward Community College so we are both college graduates although I still have 16 hours to complete but I'm close enough to count. It's taken me 5 years but I've been going part time. Anyway andy will soon be a big star and I can promise that stan, matt, lou and that silly Samson would not be able tohit his fastball. Bunch of jealous old pharts.

Priscilla

I realy am stillmadd abot the way you guys treated Andy. Why knot show some class and resspect a guy with a lot of mony for sining a big Contract. He could by you guys and spit you out. You would never talk that way to him in person because he would beat you up. If anyone nice out Their could tellme where he is I would apreseeate it. He is being held on the minors because of prejawdish. I'd put my cellnumber on here but all you durty oldmen would hiut on me.

Go Browerd CC!!!

Samson's Boyfriend

Neil-God...not quite a Neely but close, even went to some of his remotes..a true ICON of S,Fl.. listened to Neil very early on in his career..also familiar with the old school guys like Hank Goldberg,a great guy ,even the old Miami days when Larry King was doing color for the Dolphins..Family had season tickets in the Orange Bowl from 70-77...It was great back then..I'm surprised the Orange Bowl did'nt collapse every home Sunday in 72 during the perfect season...saw Johnny U walk off the field in the Orange Bowl his last game in a Colt uniform with his Hi-Tops and crew cut..Dolphins beat Colts that day to go 14-0 on their way to perfect season..went to every home Dolphin game from 70-77..it was something else back then..

Samson's Boyfriend

Ms. Pricilla..you can find your beloved Andrew Miller toiling away in a place called Pawtucket..It's a small town in Mass. so you should be able to find a 6'7 white guy that weighs about 170 with long arms and skinny fingers that are at least 8 inches long..He tries to get guys out by day and studies at night for his career as a gynocologist...He finally figured out that those long fingers could help him in another career, other than wrapping them around a baseball..Your right I could'nt hit his fastball..I dont have a 6ft long bat to reach his pitches..Don't think he could beat me up..have to catch me first and Andrew runs like the Brat-wurst in the Sausage race in Milwaukee...let us know if you find your beloved Andy...

Priscilla

I don't believe you and weren't you named after guy in that novel who lost his hair and was so mad at the barber he blew the place up. I took Human Ities a nd studied that. I bet there isn't even a city with that silly of a name in masachoosits and his fingers looked fine to me while he was signing my Bobblehead Doll. Andy got mad at some fan behind me who asked him if the Bobblehead was named after him?I didn't get that.Anyhow I see no reason for making up a fictishus name to make a fool out of me.

Priscilla

I had a boy friend at Breward CC who wanted to be a door to door guynocowlogist. I often wonder how he is doing.

Debbie

Someone called me to tell me there was somebody here asking about Andrew. I got one thing to say Back OFF.I met Andrew way before you did and he is spoken for.I got season tickets for Jupiter but he must still be in Gainesville because I haven't seen himyet but when I do you better not be around. i got a whole bunch of names for you and I'm 5'8" and weigh about 230 and I'll take you out. Andrew is pretty tall so I bet we have that in common. How tall are you, shrimp??

Stan M

Yes, I remember that game, Samson. Didn't Dodgers also misplay another ball just before that? Until recently, my son and I both felt that the Marlins were blessed this year. It seemed as if all the tough umpire calls were going our way, balls were falling in to places that used to be foul, and the manager was ordained with judgement far above that of us mortals. It reminded us of 2003. Now? Bloops are falling for the other teams, the manager is starting to act like his predecessor, and anyone reaching 3rd base is finding an insurmountable wall between there and home. We seem to need a spark.
Have you noticed posts by L...Bowie? I remember being told that the name was derived from racetracks. Posts from that source are always cogent and I wish we saw more of them. I think you might have a lot in common.

Priscilla

I ain't afraid of you.In fact why don't we meet in the parking lot of that big old place the Marlins play in.I'm small and wiry and my daddy thought me how to take care of myself.i even know some Tie Cuando and my hands are dangerus weapons.i must warn you of that.Youset the date and I'll be there.Let'smake it for when the Marlins finally call Andy like they should have a long timeago.

Glags

Where's Jerry Springer? He should get in on this.

Samson's Boyfriend

Ms.Priscilla..I was wondering if your Andrew Miller Bobblehead Doll is the same one I got..Mine is a Limited Edition model..the One that's got Andrews head attached to his body with a 18 inch long spring ,from the front suspension of a Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up..They told me it would be worth alot of money some day.but Im not so sure now..Anyway one night last season I was watching Andrew pitch on T.V...he could'nt throw srikes and I lost my temper and in a rage thru his Bobblhead at the T.V..Well I had perfect aim,but somehow, like the head was filled with helium. it missed the T,V by a mile and floated high and to the left and hit the ceiling..It was spooky because Andrew's pitches that nite were doing the same thing..Anyway no damage to Andrews Bobblehead thank God that thing can take a beating nite after nite because the next few times he pitched the same thing happened...if you have the same Bobblehead dont throw it at anything,it misses every time..

Stan M

No game today so we are reduced to trading barbs with Pricilla. Well, to cheer everyone up, google "a window washer with a sense of humor" and it will lighten your day

Samson's Boyfriend

Laurel Park..Bowie,Maryland...Got It..Good moniker..did'nt laurelbowie have a spot on post on the line-up that nite before it was officially released....my compliments laurelbowie...keep em coming...

Priscilla

I'm here waiting for Debbie and she did not show up. I guess the crowd will not be that big tonight and they have not even turned the lights on and they forgot to open the gates. The ticket thingamahjiggees aren't even open.Is it a Free Night?

Samson's Boyfriend

Ms. Priscilla..Tonites action is at the new stadium. Get on I-95..go south to miami..go to 7st and nw17ave..Orange Bowl Bar is across street from new stadium on the corner..Go in sit at the bar..tell Jorge you want a Double Baccardi Cuba Libre..just wait for Debbie and tell Jorge to keep the Cuba Libre's coming till she gets their...if she's a no show by 9pm or cinco{five} Cuba Libre's, check back with me for further instructions...

Priscilla

I just read Beinfest'scomments. How does he expect them to stay in it and then make upgrades if he does nothing now to help them stay in it. Larry, there are many in baseball who say your sysrem stinks. I know 3 people who not in the upper levels of management know a lot about minor league systems. If you think either Koehler or West is capable of being a contributor for a good club, that may be part of the problem. Hand is at least a year away, James is a good two years away. The best prospects appear to be at Greensboro but unless you have a Stanton walking around it's hard to project Low A players. If I was in your position I would start to stretch out some of these power arm relievers and have them work on an additional pitch . When your best pitchers are relievers and Ozzie Martinez makes your Top Ten list of prospects you are in serious doo doo.I may be Ozuna's good luck charm. I've seen him play a couple of times and he has demonstrated a real good stroke and then I see him slumping badly.Fischer looks good and you can tell Yelich will hit. How about a friendly bet like Governors do for Super Bowls.IF Skipworth plays a year in the Majors I will send you some South Carolina barbecue if he flames out and disappears a slice of Key Lime Pie at Joe's.

Larry, Talk Cheapie into getting some help.Gabby, Dobbs, LoMo, stanton, JJ,Nolasco,Anibel,Leo, Dunn, Brian,Randy and Hayes do not deserve this. And I'm serious about just asking Helms if he wants to start that coaching career early. DON'T let him be a hitting instructor but he could do a good job at Jamestown or the Rookie League team.Until they start playing name him Team chaplain or Motivational speaker and let's get a bat in here. When poor Dobbs has to hit against left handers it's obvious you guys have the same level of confidence in Uncle Wes as I do.

Lou Vales

WoW!!!! That was a good post by Priscilla.

Matt

Funny how Priscilla's post is at 7:32 and Lou's acknowledgment of the post is a minute later. I'm not saying, I'm just saying...

Lou Vales

Samson,Do you really want Priscilla drinking that much and driving around. I've NEVER had a Cuba Libre. The only thing I drink are Tangueray 10 Martinia, extra dry straight up with 3 olives. I also like Puligny or Chassagne Montrachet and ANY good local, dark beers.

I always thought it would be fun to make fun of those Bud Light commercials by making one up that says--"Hey You, bad domestic beer drinking loser. Yes You who are still drinking the weak swill you drank in college and who will never develop a taste for real beer."

Matt

Meant to write '31' after 7, but I think you get the gist..

Lou Vales

I'm really worried about Priscilla . She's even using her lap top to post while either driving or parked somewhere. Why don't you go look for her.

Samson's Boyfriend

Ms Priscilla ...you sound familar...have we talked before???

Lou Vales

Matt, It's analogous to the Marlins' farm system---Blank Happens.

Matt

I wonder what the current state of the farm system is viewed as..Baseball america and probably a few other sites usually give at least an annual review of each of the MLB teams. A few years ago the Marlins' system was praised for being stacked with arms. Don't think you can make that statement now.

Lou Vales

Matt and Samson, What do you think of my Top 3 Lies:

(1) A man saying "Just a little kiss."

(2) A woman saying "I've never done this before."

(3) Marlins management promising to get a team help before September 1.

Samson's Boyfriend

Arrangements have been made for Ms.Priscilla's transportation upon leaving the Orange Bowl Bar...would never let ANYBODY drive after drinking...

Lou Vales

Matt, I'm trying to get my cell phone number to Samson but i think the Blog has become more sophisticated since I got it to you.By the way,Matt is correct.I totally messed up directions the last time.

Matt

Well to come to the defense of the vaunted FO they did acquire both Arthur Rhodes and Nick Johnson in the recent past...

Lou Vales

Samson, how are you at codes??

Lou Vales

Stacked???? The Marlins farm system is a 32A whwn it comes to pitching.

Matt

Lou, I would leave out the area code as that's simply acquired. perhaps a trivia question with the correct answer, after number decoding, providing the digits..

Matt

A 'few years ago' Lou, not now.

Lou Vales

That is a good point about Rhodes and Johnson, however, I believe both came at the trading deadline because I remember the Johnson deal not being announced until after the deadline. Remember the name Voss, the lefthander the Marlins gave up to acquire Nate Robertson(LOL), the Tigers like him. NATE ROBERTSON!!!!! 83 mile an hour fastball and an 81MPH slider to play off that.

Lou Vales

It tookme 2 hours to get over that loss last night--I really do take this too seriously. When Gregg was the closer I would not watch the 9th inning.i would take the dog for a walk and stay out for 15 minutes and then come back and see what happened. My favorite Gregg low light was the game the Marlins scored 2 off of Smoltz in the top of the 9th and Gregg gave up 2 in bottom of the 9th and it happened so quickly that the post game show was half over before I got back from my walk.

Matt

Yeah, Nick was acquired right at the deadline and he played very well when he was healthy. The Rhodes pick up was solid, but not resigning him was stupid. They struggled that whole next season without a true lefty specialist...Pinto. Let's give Nate a little props, his fastball was consistently in the 87-89 range with the Marlins. On occasion he would touch 90. Still though, a junk ball pitcher more or less.

Samson's Boyfriend

So-So but I'll give it a shot...by the way every thing his Larryness said is all lip service...did you read my post about asking a waiter at a Miami seafood resturant"What's in the Bouillabaisse Tonite" just like His Larryness, you'll never get a STRAIGHT answer..Sooo..I'm an action guy as in Action speakes louder than words...Will wait and see what transpires... If anything does it should be announced tommorrow afternoon about 4pm the time Marlins take BP...

Lou Vales

Where the Hell is Pinto.I was totally wrong on him.I thought he and Tankersley would be very good. You know my thoughts on Kensing.

Samson's Boyfriend

Know 2 more top lies..the check is in the mail and I won't come..well you know the rest...

Samson's Boyfriend

Pinto ran into a little alleged legal trouble upon his exit from Marlins..outstanding arrest warrant for a no show in court on traffic related matter and civil legal problem for stiffing a Jewelery store owner out of just under a million $...remember I said alleged..Oh Well Boys will Be Boys...Tankersly is pitching in the Mets organization I last heard..Kensing I dont know...By the way Livan is allegedly being investigated by Feds for his ties to convicted Drug Dealer...How do you spell money laundering???

Lou Vales

Well, stiffing a business owner is bad, but the inability to not get out left handed batters warranted a trip to the pen in Colorado where you only get out 1 hour a week. That's where Sheik Mohammed is.

By the way, when did it go from being pronounced "Sheek" to "Shake" or should it always have bben pronounced SHAKE??
