Hechavarria may not make road trip with Marlins

Just when Mike Redmond thought his team was getting healthy it appears more health concerns have reached the forefront.

Shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria, who hit the lone home run during the home stand and injured himself Wednesday making a throw during batting practice, may not make the trip with the team Thursday.

Redmond said the Marlins could opt to use Chris Valaika at shortstop or move second baseman Donovan Solano to short if needed. Valaika was charged with a fielding error Wednesday night.

“We got some options there,” Redmond said. “Obviously we can't afford another injury. It seems like we get a guy back and lose another guy. It's tough right now.”

Redmond said Hechavarria is set to be evaluated Thursday.

"I think he made a throw and had some discomfort in his elbow," Redmond said. "That's why we took him out. We should know more tomorrow hopefully."

The Marlins are a disgrace to baseball with Loria who should be banned from owning a sports team. Where is Bud Selig?

We paid a lot to keep the Marlins happy and the only person getting richer is Loria. The city is shocked by Loria and I'm not because he did it twice before. Get Loria out of baseball

Tough loss for the Fish yesterday. The good thing is that the Braves also lost, so the Fish are only 9.5 games back. Still a lot of ball to be played! Like Sampson says, Miami will be proud of this team!

DR. NO

Hechavarria caught a dose of Marlins Malaria..too hurt to play...bitten by the injury bug....join the list...

Who's on first base

gotta love this kid Harper....sick as hell, vomiting, took intravenous fluids before the match and still owned Nolasco like he's always done...

ing-loria's cheap Batsturds

If the Marlins get the #1 draft choice next year, will Loria pay the big bucks and get held for ransom by an agent, like Boras..hope so on both counts, but very doubtful Loria would pay.

This doesn't sound good. Hope Tommy John surgery isn't necessary. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like this with any team. I've always questioned the Marlins strength and conditioning program but this seems like they are cursed. Brujeria???

Who's on first base

15 day dl for Hech. 60 day dl for Eovaldi.
2 tequilas for me.

Now he's (Hechavarria) on the 15 day DL, Eovaldi on the 60 day DL. We basically got damaged goods. Somebody please bleed a chicken or goat and reverse the curse!!
