Yelich heading to minor league disabled list

Top prospect Christian Yelich -- expected to be called up at some point this season -- will be placed on the minor league disabled list Thursday with a small abdominal wall strain. He is expected to miss about two weeks the Marlins say.

Hitting .262 with six home runs and 28 RBIs in 41 games for Jacksonville, Yelich was hurt making a diving catch in the outfield Monday. He played Tuesday, but was lifted from the lineup after complaining of discomfort following three at-bats.

Those who wanted Jay Leno to begin making fun of the Marlins finally got their wish. On tonight's show, Leno referred to the PED scandal and said something like, "It's a shame. That clinic is right there in Miami. Couldn't they have given some of those PEDs to the Marlins? You know, help a brother out."
