Back On The Recruiting Prowl

We're down to 9 days and counting until National Signing Day and it looks like your Panthers have picked up a couple more commitments.

Tottle Osceola High offensive lineman Austin Tottle, all 6-4 and 315 pounds of him, is headed toward FIU.

So is North Dakota State defensive back Jarrell McGee, who runs a 4.4, 40 and is 5-10, 200 pounds. McGee, who is from Cocoa, Florida, has a pretty good highlight video and you can check it out here: Best Of Jarrell McGee

Was working on an FIU recruiting story for Tuesday's paper on Monday. You can check it out at miamiherald.com.

Some other nuggets discovered on the recruiting prowl on Monday: FIU is still in the hunt for linebacker Larvez Mars (right), who apparently will qualify academically to play Division I football this season, and is Mars narrowing down his choices to FIU and Iowa State.

Linebacker Roderic Blunt is about set to commit to Middle Tennessee, because of ties with Blue Raiders coach Rick Stockstill and former high school teammate Emmanuel Perez.

Looks like the final NMB 2: Nico Flores and Kehmal Ishmael are going to be a package deal for either Western Michigan or Central Florida.

Dharg And don't count out FIU with either NW running back Daquan Hargrett (left) and Archbishop Carroll defensive back Corey Ammons.
