Game 2: FIU vs. Rutgers LIVE BLOG

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Good afternoon from the birthplace of college football -- Rutgers -- as your Panthers try to deliver their first win against a BCS team in the 7-year history of FIU football.

Great football weather up here: 50's and not a cloud in the powder blue sky. We're less than 30 minutes from kickoff here at renovated Rutgers Stadium. So let's go live blogging....

Hi Pete. Sorry I am not there at the game. Watching it on tv!! Lets go Panthers!!!!

How do you win against a team that eats so much pasta. Really lets try to get some fish sticks or a McRib sandwich. Oh by the way, I fight the strays on Biscayne daily.

Do paintballs smell? I am high on life and donuts. I went to college in Africa with my girlfriend. I left her for a mountainlion.

Dick Chasecheese - you're a nut. There is no comprehension of your posts. I hope you live no where near me...I'd hate to have to put a bullet in a chest.

Let me just disclaim that I am PISSED, but here are my personal observations before I go off to drink myself blind tonight...

1. Our offensive line SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS....SUCKS!!! I don't care if they're young, old, experience, fat, ripped, THEY SUCK. They provide no, NO, protection for PM. Hit the weight room, tape room, dunkin donuts, I don’t care, JUST DO YOUR JOB.
2. Those last 2 touchdowns were GARBAGE. Rutgers wrapped it up like a burrito in the 4th, the TDs pad TY's stats but they were MEANINGLESS. Where were those TDs in the 1st half? Oh I know, no where to be found because our offensive line SUCKS!!
3. Us hard core fans are way, WAY, W A Y overrating this team as fan base. They have a LOOONG way to go. This was no "hanging with" #4 Alabama. This was getting man-handled by a middle-of-the-pack Big East team, which is not much to say.
4. MC and staff did nothing, NOTHING, new to get TY the ball more and often...at least nothing that worked. TY got the two garbage TDs at the end but NOTHING when it counted. I saw nothing creative to get him the ball. WHY...WHY? Would the Miami Heat not work to get D. Wade the ball? The Patriots to Moss? Arizona and Fitzgerald? Someway, somehow, he MUST get the ball. If he does not, you FAILED that game as COACHES. You have a game-changer, maybe a once in a career game-changer, GET HIM THE BALL!!!
5. Where is ANTHONY GAITOR? Where is he? Why doesn't he step up in these games? Am I missing something? Brown was schooling him when it counted the most...he's a Junior, an upper classmen, a leaser, this is his year, his defense. Weak.

I hope these guys are flying back home humbled right now. This was a VERY POOR performance. Maybe some can say expectations were unreasonable but they MUST be “unreasonable” or we will forever dwell in mediocrity.

These men have LOTS of work to do.

I love FIU but damn this is painful year after year. Where’s the vodka…

sorry for the double post...

I'd like to say I told you so.... have a drink on me FIUer, it's growing pains, no one just becomes good automatically. Hopefully you guys improve a bit as the year progresses, best of luck.

What can I say.....we got handed an entire plate of humble pie!

I agree with everything said above EXCEPT point number 4. How can we get the ball to TY when we are getting manhandled on the o-line? Even a direct snap would have been snuffed out.

And i would like to add point 6 - Our D-line SUCKS as well.

Man....this one hurts because it was so atrocious.

Poor McCall was been hit so many times between Bama and Rutgers... it's amazing he can even move at all at this point.

Rutgers just gave everyone the blueprint to stop us... blitz, blitz, blitz means no passes to TY, no passes to Greg R...

I don't even know what to think right now....how did we look so good at Bama and so bad at Rutgers?

Our Defense played a great game. It's our offense that couldn't do a thing. O-line needs to step if off to give Paul enough time to get the ball off.

Our o-line sucks big time... To put it nicely.

The d line was ok, not nearly as bad as the o line. I think the D was not the problem it was the offense. The d only had 14 points scored on them, any other team with a decent offense would've pulled out a win. Something that does worry me is that we haven't had a pick. It's hard to win when you can't score and the other teams offense is not turning the ball over.

The D was great....but the D-line sucked.

The QB had ALLL DAY to throw...if it wasn't for the rest of the D, this would have been a blowout.

on a positive note, the linebackers did well.

Guys this team is a work in progress. The O-Line has had TWO poor games. Bama was expected b/c that defense will be in most back-fields all year long. I was expecting better protection for PM vs. Rutgers. I'll tell you one thing, the way you stop those blitzes, burn them for a score. However, it seems that we haven't schemed for this. PM has NO SHOT to pass to a slanting receiver or some deep take-off on the outside. Every team will continue to blitz like this until we BURN that defense. Let’s hope for a better performance vs. Toledo.

One disappointing thing to discuss, I went with my family to the Sports Grill on 117th Ave & Bird and the place was PACKED with FIU fans. This was AWESOME to see, however it was too full so I decided to take my family to the one on Sunset Drive. Here is where the story goes south. They not only said they WEREN'T playing the FIU game, THEY INFORMED ME THEY WOULDN'T SHOW IT AT ALL! I informed them that unlike the Bama game, they already have this game in College Game Day package. Other FIU fans were also getting there (Sports Grill on Sunset Dr.) from the Bird Rd location I presume, and were told the same. The Village Town Tavern in Kendall SAVED the day by playing the FIU game on two of their TVs for us FIU fans despite the UF contingent watching UF vs. Tenn. If Sports Grill is our SO-CALLED official viewing site, maybe someone needs to tell their OTHER locations (Bird Rd is GREAT!) to be more FIU friendly.

From now on I will try Sports Grill in Bird and then if there is no space, it off to the VILLAGE TOWN TAVERN where FIU fans are welcomed!!

GO FIU!!!

Guys I'm as disappointed in this loss as anyone but some perspective please.

Yes, our O-line can't hang with the big boys yet. Remember also that Younger played for most of the first half and showed why Cristobal was too stubborn in his first year by sticking with him. Younger should only be brought in a Wildcat formation or to run trick plays. The guy just can't quarterback. It's scary that he's number 2 on the depth chart.

Clearly Schiano anticipated Cristobal's moves fairly well. Our coaches still need to get better at making adjustments.

I do think the defense played fairly well considering how long they were on the field.

Remember last year how all hope was lost and then these guys turned the season around by beating Toledo. OK, so we're not consistent enough and we haven't gotten there yet but if you look at a higher level and over time, we've certainly progressed from year 1 to year 3.

We have several challenges ahead of us. There are no gimme games. We have to bring it for every game and we have to cut out the penalties and turnovers and then that just might put us in a position to win. Three false starts in a row?

Now if McCall gets injured then all bets are off because while I like Younger's spirit, the guy just can't QB.

I'll be there for Toledo and I'm sure they'll come out more focused. But be advised, it will be a tough game.

Sports Grill on Bird was packed again.

Ended up going to Carringtons, which was playing the game. THere was plenty of space there, the place itself though is not well lit and the main projection screen (which was the only screen it was being show on) is very dim even in that dark place.

kirk herbstreit is on crack. He said Miami will be #5. Ha at least he didnt pick Ohio State to be #5. Thats what I really dislike about college football, its based on opinion and there are huge biases. Opinion and biases do not mix well. Thats why you've got guys like Lou Holtz that have such a blind and unwavering support for ND dictating the POLLS and rankings.

You dont see this in the NFL. Most analysts are objective and remain neutral. Watch Dan Marino's pre and post game commentary, sometimes I wish he would show a little bias toward the dolphins. Same thing with Michael Strahan on FOX, he remains objective and neutral.

I just got back from Rutgers, man I am very dissapointed with our performance today. The defense was ok, but lets be honest, it seems that Rutgers had more penalties on offense that help our defense, so many times their qb wated a lot of time getting the calls from Schiano, and their fans let it have it wiht boos.
our game plan needs to adjust to stay with other teams.
I like that TY is becoming more of a vocal leader and PM has some Co. Jones, and kept on playing even after getting hit time and time again.
Our lines were weak today, we need to recruite linemen. Our defense has its moments,
Rutger fans are classy, well at least the one seating in my section.
PM time was off, too many bad thorws, GE was running outside on his routes, not concentrating his location, Frierson is getting better every game. Mertile is MIA. Special team blocking was missing too. they were kicking it to TY and they were right on him after the catch.
We as fans need to stop the moral victory crap, a loss is a loss, hanging tough for a quarter half of the game or the entire game doesn't matter at the end of the day a loss is a loss. The expectations are high and they should be like that, and the player's got to remember that they have to execute every game, regardless of the opponent, the last week opponent, teh fans or the media.

I was as pissed as anyone watching this game through the middle of the 3rd quarter. It was a terrible feeling when I saw Perry get stuffed a few times to start the game and deja vu sank in with a "oh no, not this again."

However, after having some time to digest and reanalyze the game, I must say its unfair to say that the final two scores were garbage.

Didn't you guys hear the fans booing the Rutgers O? I'm pretty sure they expected this game to be a blow out, just like Rutgers Dan predicted. When they saw that their team was really struggling to do much of anything against us, they turned against their O. Fans expected another performance like the one they had against Howard.

That being said, I'm pretty sure the Rutgers D would've loved nothing more than hang us a goose egg on the scoreboard. Sure, our second TD was with 30 seconds left, but what kind of a head coach or defensive coordinator would simply allow us to march down the field twice to put the game at risk at all?

Football is simple. Yes, our O-line is a POS compared to that of the stronger confereces. So what does one do to hide a weak O-line? Short routes, screen plays, quick slants. Did anyone see that during the game???? NO. Not until the last two drives we had.

What the hell is wrong with our coaching staff? Why is the O-coordinator calling plays that require a ton of time to develop?

If there is such thing as moral victory, then there must exist moral defeat....

This was a moral defeat.

They were booing Schiano play calling, he has the third string qb and he had a hard time getting the play from Schiano, also they had a few false starts, delay of games and couldn't execute the big play after the time outs, exept for Brown's catch that was almost a TD. and then their penalties set them back out of the red zone.
the last 7 minutes of the game after their intersection the defense was their second and third string players, their uniforms were clean, and we had our startes on the field.
Lets face it all that hype that was created about "hanging" with Bama created a false sense of over confidence.
Also I know PM was rushed, but GE routes were off, we couldn't stablished the run and then we had WY for 2 series.
The O line and D line has to learn from our team leaders PM, TY and SB to play hard and don't give up. those 3 gays got banged up during the game and they kept on playing, that is personal pride, heart and perseverense.
The entire team needs to step up to that level.
Someone said the linebackers were good, they were better than the line, but there were a lot of missed tackles that were almost for loss and ended up with the qb or rb gaining having a great play. guys got to remember the basics of tackling.
We got to be hungrier agains Toledo and rest of the Belt. Middle Tennessee had a good game yesterday beating Maryland at their house, and please don't say that we are better than North Texas because their Bama game compared to ours.

Again, we don't have the horses upfront. I think the problem is that in South Florida, we can get good skill players (wr, cb, rb) but it is tough getting the big guys on the o-line. That position is one of the toughest to recruit especially for a school like ours.

First off, I had a great time at the Sports Grill at Bird... it was packed and it took a while to finally be seated, but it was still a great atmosphere...

That being said... what a disappointing performance. And I hang it ALL on the O-line. ALL of it. If they had stepped up early on and given PM time to throw, he would have gotten something going. If they would have blocked right, maybe Perry would have been able to get the running game going. If they would have been able to count, maybe they wouldn't have been penalized so much. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED??? Just a horrible performance at ALL levels and if they had played better, this game goes differently.

Next, like had been said above, the playcalling was suspect. Where were the short slants? GET TY THE BALL!! Let our recievers get the ball and GO!!! We kept going down the field, down the field, down the field like we were going to try and get that one big play... and it never came. And where was Cristobal's intensity??? I didn't see ANY of it! Where was he when his line was falling apart and his QB was getting killed? It seemed like he was nervous and intimidated the entire game... didn't look like he was in control of the team today.

Let's put this game behind us... it's over. Time to look at Toledo. We gotta pack that place. From here on out, we need to WIN. We got Toledo, ULM and WKU... We should be 3-2 coming back home against Troy with a 2-0 conference record. This team is good, make no mistake. But it's time for that O-line to step up against these opponents that are more at our level. These past two weeks have been tests, they better start putting people on their backs next week or Cristobal better start rolling some heads...

Let me get this straight...there is no moral victory in losing to rutgers by 8 points. This is a program that didnt exist 10 years ago, went 0-12 three years ago, 1-11 two years ago. MC is doing a great job and we should be very competitive in the sun belt and hopefully make it to out FIRST bowl game and winning season. To wish for more is fanlike, to expect more is delusional.

Where do I start? First of all, i'm extremely disappointed. I was expecting a competitive game, Rutgers just manhandled us for 3 1/2 quarters. Like everyone is saying, "our O-Line just stunk it up". It takes time to build a good O-line, but this unit has been together for 3 years and they were not good at all. I actually feel bad for Darriet Perry. Seems like he got the ball and ran right into a concrete wall.

I'm 100% sure that Cristobal is not happy with lack of production from that unit. During the end of the game he played a freshmen at Right Tackle(Dave Istanich). I don't care if you're an upperclassmen, if you're not performing give the new recruits a chance. I have a feeling some major changes will happen with O-line next week.

Talking about next week...Toledo has better offense than last year so if our offense can't put up points against them it could get ugly. We need to focus this week on getting our first win.

Last thing, defense played well. Gaitor had a good game, it's not like Rutgers was picking on him. It was just one play he got beat on...that happens. For the most part if he's not coming up on the screen that's good for DB. It just means teams are not going his way.

GO FIU!!!!

Javier... don't give me that 8 point bull.

Those pity points at the end don't count when we are going up at Rutgers second and third stringers.

Against Bama...the score at the end made it look like it was a blowout, yet anyone who saw it knows that's not the case.

Against Rutgers...the score at the end made it look like it was close, yet anyone who saw it knows thats not the case.

Expecting the O-line to block is not delusional. Expecting McCall not to be pounded into the ground all game long is not delusional.

................. let's move on...... hope for a better showing at home. Go FIU. Go Panthers.

I agree with Florida FP&L here... there is NO EXCUSE for the O-Line's performance. In my eye's that was the difference between a win and a loss in this game, and hopefully they will give Perry and McCall enough time to do their thing from here on out now that we are facing opponents more to our level.

We are a good offensive line away from beating Rutgers and from taking our play to a whole nother level!

Lets get real here guys. Other FIU fans are popping up on the radar and its getting everyone pumped up. But our success is still going to take a couple of years. Remember, the good recruiting classes only started with THIS freshmen year. Its going to take experience and development to get Cristobal's recruits to full speed.

Others in here are right, adjustments must come quickly, especially with a weak o-line. If we're getting beat bad with stronger teams, we have to explore the spread, option, and two-step drop plays. We have the skill players at WR and eventually TE. Lets not depend on the OL to give them all the time in the world.

That said, I expected FIU to be 0-2 at this point. But did anyone expect us to hang 3 ptrs with Bama? Did anyone expect us to hold RU to 16 pts on offense? No. Our season starts against Toledo and the rest of the Sun Belt, who is on our level. The only other automatic loss I expect is at Gainesville. I hope Cristobal and this team uses the experience gained from these first two games and start to succeed on our level first, before dreaming of taking on the BCS teams.

Baltimore Panther,

The fans starting booing Rutgers when Savage was still in the game, their offense was in the redzone and the QB was getting the play in as he did for the entire game and has been doing for the entire season. So what the hell were the fans expecting??? That shows me that the GP's were frustrating the hell out of Rutgers.

Are you honestly going to sit there and tell me that the Rutgers head coach is completely satisfied with his team's performance against us?

I will stand by this statement, Rutgers didn't win the game, the Panthers lost it. Either way, lets put things in perspective. Last year, our team could not run on ANYBODY. This year thus far, we haven't been able to run on Alabama or Rutgers. For the moment, we play in the SBC, that means that we need to measure ourselves against them.

If we manage to have successful running games against the other SBC teams, then that means that our O-line has improved. We need to remember that this starting O-line is not part of the top notch recruiting that MC is doing for our school. We are still at least two good years from hanging with the big boys, this game proved it, but we need to believe that our team can sweep the SBC.

I don't think our team can sweep our sunbelt schedule. Middle ten is looking very good, beating Memphis and Maryland, while both unranked, is cause for concern, Especially considering we play them at home!

Away I meant

I'm not saying it's a given, but I believe we have the talent to beat everyone in the SBC.

Pete, please find out the injury situation with PMC as soon as you can. That beating he took could not have left him unharmed.

FIUFloridaPower&Light, did u see any FIU football players there at Carringtons?? #86 Harris was suppose to be there watching the game. He didn't travel with the team. Just wondering...thanks

ACC has 4 top 25 teams in the new AP poll and OMG - who is that team sitting at #9 (That is in the top 10 for you FIU fans) It is the University of Miami.

I thought I read somewhere on here that they were on the decline and that FIU was passing them and that the U should be scared and that FIU was a sleeping giant and that RS was a horrible coach and that MC was the best and whatever else you morons have said. How does that crow taste? Way to really go out and show that you belong in the Big East. Losers.

Congratulations to you and the rest of the MDCC alumni, CrazyCane.

Speaking as the guy who will soon be de-throned as the leader on the GPP Win-A-Blog contest... this was a bad performance by FIU. I have to agree that FIU lost this game more than Rutgers won it. And the reason is summed up in one word: trenches.

The Knights didn't play that great. Other than their running game, especially Martinek, they weren't consistently getting anything done on O. I think the secondary and LB's had a pretty solid game all around for FIU. I find it strange that more of you aren't coming down on the D-Line, because they were nearly as bad as the O-Line. The pass rush was pretty much non-existent. They weren't holding their ground on running plays. If RU had last year's offense in this game, they probably put up 40+ points. Someone on the D-Line's got to start generating a pass rush. FIU can't rely on blitzes all the time to do that.

As for the O-Line... y'all beat that point to death already. Suffice it to say, they did a better job against Alabama than Rutgers, and I never would've believed that could happen. I hope all you Younger fans are convinced now that the kid shouldn't be starting over McCall. PM did a hell of a job in this contest, especially with the way he was getting drilled. His only real mistake was the pick-6 at the end, which definitely was his fault. I think he made up for that with the way the offense finished the game, though, second-stringers nonwithstanding. And how the hell Paul's still able to walk is beyond me. I haven't seen an FIU quarterback take a beating like that for two games in a row since Jamie Burke in the inaugural season.

I agree on the play-calling... definitely suspect. I would've liked more creativity. I wonder why they don't do more reverses with TY. That's an easy way to get him the ball, especially if you put him in motion and fake the hand-off to the RB. Other than that, I think Legg focused on Hilton plenty, especially at the end. The guy I thought who should've gotten more looks was Ellingson. He was pretty quiet.

What this game proved to me was what I was hoping wasn't the case... namely, FIU has the skill players to compete against anyone. What's missing is the beef. Since you can't get linemen at Winn-Dixie, Sedano's or Publix, I hope MC's got a plan to start getting better quality linemen for the future. In the meantime, I think both sides of the line will get better in conference play. How much better's the real question. I get the feeling that the fate of FIU's season will hinge very heavily on how much the O & D-Lines improve as the season goes along.

Crazy...

Can we stop with the TY for Heisman talk now? The only way he was even ever going to be considered was if he tore it up in the SB and in the OOC games. Yes he has three TD's, but has been far from Heisman worthy. I mean the run back against Ala was legit - but the 2 TD's yesterday were a joke. You don't win the Heisman scoring TD's against a 2nd and 3rd string defense when the game has already been decided.

Where do I start?

What a painful game to watch! Our D-line was ok at best and our O-line was mediocre. Horrible game on both sides of the ball. I think we stood a better chance if we had the waterboy as QB and the cheerleaders on the O-line. Did our boys NOT get the memo, GAME THIS SATURDAY AGAINST RUTGERS.

Our O-line couldn't hold it together. They allowed PMC to get sacked 5 times and couldn't open up holes for our running game. Younger didn't execute any passing plays? Doesn't he know we can gain yards by passing as opposed to holding on to the ball and getting sacked? Those blitzes absolutely DESTROYED us! And what was up with the repeated mistakes? I mean, three consecutive false starts? You get called on a false start one time, you DON'T do it again! We did it two more times as if to say "F the Refs". Those penalties killed us and so did the turnovers.

What's shocking is that this was a game that we COULD'VE won. Savage wasn't that great out there and we could've taken advantage of his inexperience. The Scalett Knights struggled offensively early in the game and they're D wasn't that strong, that is ofcourse until they figured out that blizting through our O-line was a walk in the park. At that point, PMC didn't stand a chance. In fact, he spent more time on his back than he did standing.

Bottom line, we were horrible out there! We didn't play with the same intensity that we did against Bama, no where near!

As many have already posted, perhaps our expectations were TOO high for this team. We still need a lot of improvement in many areas as evidenced by our lack of EVERYTHING last night. Having said that, I am seriously reconsidering my projected wins/losses going into the rest of the season. Based on last night's performance, it appears questionable whether FIU will win the belt this year. Wow, terribly disappointed here!

Like Fomenter said, it's growing pains, no one just becomes good automatically. I will support our Golden Panthers till the end, but last night was just a heartbreaking loss. Here's to a long season guys...

I agree completely with clawing cancer. The SBC is known for lacking the powerful lines that make the stronger conferences what they are.

MC needs to find a way to recruit offensive linemen.

Yes, it is true that our D-line has not been able to generate any kind of pressure on opposing QB's. But the truth is, we played a team in Alabama that has arguably the best O-line in the nation and a Rutgers O-line that has arguably the best O-line in the Big East. The jury should still be out on our defensive line.

FPL,
8 points bull? 3 years ago it would have been 62 or do we forget losing to kansas and iowa (both middle of the road teams in their conf.) 42-0 and 55-3. What do you want? i we lose to UF by 25 will that be a disappiontment? We're lucky if they dont drop 70 on us like they did on troy. btw have we ever beaten troy? no we're 0-5 against them. Get real.

I thought we would run some wildcat formations, since we have the players to do so. Who knows maybe it would spark the running game.

Pete, from what im told. Paul McCall in injured. Canyou check that out.

We're gonna get crushed by Florida!

I think that some of the frustrations expressed here are due to setting expectations TOO high. I'm guilty of this myself, but lets wait and see how we fair against our conference opponents before we can adequately judge the progress of the team. We can't just assume that FIU will go into more developed programs and beat them, especially playing away. We will get there but we're not there and a lot of work needs to be done. We have the skill players to compete against any team but without an offensive line it is IMPOSSIBLE to compete against our OOC opponents. Now, lets handle business at home against Toledo...

GO PANTHERS!!!

^^^

Agreed.

you have a skill player - and he is rendered meaningless by the fact that he is the only one and teams can gameplan him now.

Reasonable expectations?
Winning record, first bowl invite in school history = good season
Winning sun belt + bowl victory vs a MAC team = great season!
BTW crazy cane why do you bother with the FIU blog? go bug GT, FSU or Vtech and if all you want to do is thump your chest then when you win the acc (for the 1st)or go to a BCS bowl come back and gloat otherwise you sound like a whiny notre dame fan talking about how good you used to be

CrazyCane,

With the way our O-line is playing, it wouldn't make a difference if we had Brady, Adrian Peterson, and Moss. (Obviously I'm exaggerating but you get the point) I hate to say it, but the O-line is responsible for the L...

Horrible O-line = non existent running game
Horrible O-line = forced passes = no passing game

Props to the D for keeping this game from being an embarrassment.

With that said, I'm confident or better yet hopeful that they will get their act together, which will result in a lot of W's...

GO PANTHERS!!!

Javier - I am here b/c of how good things are. As they say, envy the past, respect the present.

You are new to posting on this blog. Have you seen what the FIU fans on here boast about? Let me tell you something, your fans are like the little league dad who tells everyone about his kid is the next Albert Pujols eventhough he cant catch, cant throw, and is the last pick every time.

You are the delusional fans, especially when you think that UM is on the decline b/c of FIU's emergence.

When MDCC gets a football program, then you can come back here and talk about YOUR football program, CrazyCane.

crazy cane,
again if things are so good in the gables why are you on the fiu board? Are there uf or usc fans on your boards? I repect um and its past and having very good wins this season.
But my question is not about um, its about you. are you so petty as to troll the fiu boards and beat your chest? like i said before youre like a nd fan trolling on purdue's or msu's boards.
word of advice, if you insist on beating your chest here at least wait until you win something, like the acc (which um has yet to do) or play in a bcs game. sorry but losing to cal in boise or being 2nd rate in your conf. doesnt cut it. Oh and selling out a home game or two wouldnt hurt, i know its not your stadium and its so far from campus but seeing a 1/2 empty stadium for GT was kinda sad for such a proud school. at least those sorry irish sell out their stadium, even when they stink.

What is the fascination with all things FIU that this douchebag CANDY CANE has? Douche, go off and blog and pound your chest till you crack a rib about your scUM, that #9 ranking reminds a lot of USF's #2 ranking last year...SHORT LIVED!

Crazy got kicked out of the UF boards...that's why he's here. His team doesn't measure up to #1 Florida. Anytime he goes over the UF boards he's laughed right out.

If UM wins anything this year, by all means come here and beat your chest about it. Until then crazy, you're just another clown with high expectations for a team that hasn't proven anything yet, except how to look foolish at the Emerald Bowl.

Why do UM fans have to be so distasteful? Honestly, get over yourselves, and be civil!

I am an FIU fan but I respect UM enough not to talk trash about them. How could anyone at FIU have a bed word to say about a team in its home town that is rising up the charts. If it wasn't for UM and all its past success THERE WOULD BE NO FIU FOOTBALL.

So when a idiot like CRAZY CANE comes to this Blog attack him and not the Canes. Becuz so far FIU havent done anything in terms of football. We don't have a signature win. Just moral victories which counts for squat,,Mario the clock is ticking..you are the highest paid in the conference...tic tic tic

Why wouldnt there be FIU football without um? Did they give us money or something? Fiu would have football um or not.

Jonathan...the clock may be ticking on MC but to say that there would be no FIU football without UM is plain ridiculous. I think even you can figure out why.
