Since we're in the middle of our recruiting preview and we've already taken a look at the D-Line, thought I'd pass along the latest D-Line commit for your Panthers.
Isame (pronounced ICE-EM) Faciane, a 6-4, 255-pound defensive lineman from Salmen High in Slidell, La. says "I am a FIU Golden Panther".
Faciane had offers from FIU, Louisiana, Arkansas State, ULM, Tulsa, New Mexico, SMU and Northwestern State.
He earned first team all-state honors in Class 4A as a senior after recording 44 tackles and eight sacks.

It's obvious we are putting a lot of emphasis on DL guys. From his history, it appears he can play either inside or outside as a DE. Some college recruiters feel he has the frame to hold up to 280-290 pounds, while currently running 4.75 40.
Good pick up, but may need to improve his ACT/SAT scores...

He is a very lean 240lbs, so I expect coach Collins to keep him at DE and work on his strength and speed...

I just hope we see some Big Time DL and OL recruits coming in this year. What are the chances that FIU can land maybe a couple 3 star recruits for both lines, and possibly a 4 star on each side of the line.. Make it happen!!

Happy to have young incoming guys with potential, so welcome Mr. Faciane, HOWEVER we need beef NOW. Any BIG JUCO OL or DL being considered? Troy makes a killing off these guys. We should benchmark what Troy does.
