Thomas holds two-hour session in first FIU practice

From Saturday's Herald.
BY ADAM H. BEASLEY
There was no easing into training camp for FIU basketball Friday, as Isiah Thomas held an intense two-hour session Friday night, the team's first official day of practice.

The Golden Panthers, with full attendance of their eligible players, went at it with end-to-end, one-on-one defending drills within the session's first hour.

Sporting new, all-blue workout gear, FIU's senior class began preparations for its final collegiate season.

That group included Alex Legion, who has transferred twice -- from Illinois and Kentucky -- and won't be eligible play until after this semester. Legion, a guard, played in 39 games at the schools, starting three.

The Panthers have another practice scheduled for Saturday afternoon, with less than a month before its season opener against Florida Memorial.
