As mentioned Monday, Little Caesars Pizza Bowl tickets are currently on sale through FIU’s Bowl Central page, and are also available on the phone at 305-FIU-GAME and at the FIU Stadium Fieldhouse Monday through Friday.
We’ve heard that some tickets have already moved, but FIU will likely only sell a fraction of the 10,000 made available to the program, at $45 to $60 a pop.
The program is trying to work out more affordable airfare to Detroit, and additional travel packages could be made available in the coming days.
As for questions in the comments section about bowl purses, I'm hearing that all the Sun Belt-affiliated bowls pay out essentially the same, and it goes directly to covering the cost of travel. Far from a windfall for the Panthers.

Most bowl games aren't cash cows for the teams playing in them. I reckon that FIU will make very little money from this game.
However, the intangible benefits are much greater, mainly putting on a good show in front of a national audience.

@ alt7787:
I agree that the exposure is priceless. This is the only bowl played that day. I heard FAU came back with $4,000 in 2008 after beating central michigan.
Enjoy it and beat toledo.

You are wrong. These bowl games pay nothing to the schools. The schools have to pay for everything in exchange for exposure. We want exposure for the FIU football team. We need fans to buy tickets whether or not they plan to go to the game.

Now here's the pure portrayal of a loser. Kid, you could go to Harvard and there's a 99.99% chance you'd still end up changing my car's oil. Some losers are just born that way.

Yep,
Probably the same guy who screamed GO PITT at the S-Bar after their first TD against us, while wearing a UM jersey and gotten kicked out of MDCC...

Maybe people could buy tix and donate them to the military or charities in Michigan. When other bowls look at the sale of tix for a game in december in Michigan it will look better than if we do not sell any. Trying to get some people to buy some for family in michigan.

I read too the other comments and posted some. The NO bowl pays $325K and the Pizza Bowl pays $750K. How can $425K difference be essentially the same.

Yeah, I tried this place last time I was in town, and it was about as bad as I would've thought a sushi joint in Yuma would be.
