Just talked with Mario Cristobal about Geoff Collins accepting a job at Mississippi State.
He said: "FIU football appreciates Geoff's contributions to the football program and we wish him the best in his new appointment."
Cristobal expects to fill the opening quickly, looking at candidates from within the program and "lots of new" ones from outside.

I'm going to miss those goofy poster boards on the sidelines. Who knew images of Jokey Smurf, a hammer & nail, Homer Simpson and a box of Cheerios meant a safety blitz?

BIG lose for FIU and our Defense. I know we will do a great job finding a replacement for Coach Collins but the guy was a master mind.. Our Defense went from REALLY BAD to becoming a Top 35 ranking in the NATION.. Not bad for one year of work.. Mississippi got a good one from us the same way we stole a great QB from them 2 years ago.. We wish him all the best!

I think it is time to also have a coaching change in the defensive secondary, Popovich is not the best that FIU can have. That secondary is the reason why FIU let teams stay in games.
