Competition for the two vacant starting spots on FIU's offensive line got a bit tougher Tuesday when Nebraska at Omaha offensive lineman Shae Smith signed transfer papers to join the Golden Panthers.
Smith, a 6-foot-4, 281-pound redshirt junior, will be able to play this fall since the school he's leaving -- a Division II program with 100 years of tradition -- dropped its football team last month so its other sports could make the move to Division I.
He's expected to immediately compete for playing time on an offensive line that loses Brad Serini and Cedric Mack to graduation -- and possibly the NFL.

Whooaaa...breaking news. Good job herald. Adam Bradley is most impressive reporter you guys have...I'm sure he'll do Heatles coverage soon. Rojas must be impressed.

I understand that you all want to piss on these reporters covering our school but put it aside already.

Good to have another offensive lineman, especially an experienced one.
+1 to what GOLD said, I hate reading this blog and seeing negative comments about the reporting every time. It might not be breaking news but at least it's being reported somewhere other than the school's website or the message board.

I have to chime in as well... there is no need to be bashing these guys for the service they provide us. If you are so unimpressed, why arent you writing your own blog?
Nice pickup on the OL though :)
