He had three winning seasons at Norfolk and five seasons over .500 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. This season, Norfolk went 16-0 in conference play.

Sounds good. Any Pitino, Donovan, or Hamilton connection???

Great, impressive hire.

Seems to be a young, promising coach. And no, no significant coaching tree.

Seems like a good hire, at least his background comes from tough places to coach, and turned around a losing program into a winner. Has won 47 games at Norfolk State the last couple of years.

Welcome to FIU, Coach Evans!

Welcom to FIU Coach Evans!!!

Solid hire...diminishes the burn of Pitino's early departure.

Read somewhere that coach Evans was a finalist last year for the FIU job that went to Richard. Move forward one good year, where FIU had its first winning season in 13 yrs and Coach Evans led Norfolk to a second straight post season tourney and most importantly was 16-0 against his peers in the MEAC...

That's a good young hire with a coach with strong northeast recruiting ties. Selling CUSA, Miami and a campus of 40,000 students should be a little easier. improvements in an arena that began with 100 paying fans and ended with 1000+ butts in the stands. New SoBe court...

Looking forward to your interview with coach...

Good Hire
