Well, at least somebody put toilet paper in the FIU Stadium second level stall skinny stall with the handicapped-assistance arm bars. And La Cage has coaches boxes, sort of. OK, they look like the carny booths -- throw a ball, knock over the bottles, get to call a play! -- but there is cover in case of sudden monsoon (see my Twitter feed, https://twitter.com/DavidJNeal, for photos.)
And the line on the game stopped moving up after going from FIU being a 23-point underdog to 26-point underdog in just over a day.
But on this Wednesday that's a football game week Thursday and a Home Opener Eve for volleyball, that's about all the good news I could muster concerning Friday's FIU vs. Central Florida football contest.
Senior defensive end Paul Crawford will have season-ending shoulder surgery soon. Redshirt junior offensive guard Jordan White has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery, thus taking him out for this week and possibly next week's game against Bethune-Cookman. So, either the Panthers will have redshirt freshman Trenton Saunders move into White's spot, giving them a pair of guards in their second college game (Saunders and freshman Jordan Budwig), or they'll do some resetting of their offensive line pieces.
Three reminders: nobody should walk around with pants on the ground; the caps lock key is not your friend; and use one name for your comments throughout.
