Coley in Liberty camp

FIU senior guard Jerica Coley, two-time national leading scorer and one of the most liked athletes in FIU history, has signed with the New York Liberty as a free agent. The Liberty began training camp Sunday, begin the preseason May 4 and the regular season May 16 against Connecticut.

Congrats to Jerica. It's a shame she wasn't drafted. I guess that's the result of putting up points for a team that was never really in the national conversation.

If she shows the same drive and work ethic, I'm sure she'll catch on. Either way, she's the true embodiment of student-athlete. She has a degree she can use should pro-sports not work out.

A huge congrats to Jerica. I also thought she would be drafted. Regardless The Liberty just picked up a gem..
