It's a Girl

GirlhockeyIt's a happy day for the Luongo clan, congratulations go out to Roberto and Gina on the birth of their baby daughter Gabriela.

Mom and baby are fine, dad is up in Minnesota getting ready to play the Wild in a huge game for both teams.

According to our friend Ed Willes with the Vancouver Province, Roberto showed up in time for the morning skate in St. Paul today. Roberto flew out of Fort Lauderdale Executive airport early this morning, but all accounts grinning from ear to ear. Good to hear all is well.

Said teammate Brendan Morrison: "It's a no-brainer. Roberto has to be there, for sure. It's a pretty special time in his life to share that and it's a real bonding experience. I don't think we should be surprised if he plays because we know how competitive he is and he'll do anything to help us out.''

The Wild sit in first place in the Northwest, giving them third place in the West for right now. Minnesota leads Calgary (6th in the west) by a point, Colorado (7th) by three and the Canucks (8th) by five. Nashville sits in ninth place, two points out of the final spot.
