The Final Skate

The Panthers held their last pregame skate at the Big Bank, a good crowd gathered for the festivities.

Imagine what it would have been like had this game meant something to the Sunrise Six. Remember, had the Panthers beat Tampa and Atlanta - as they absolutely should have - Florida comes into this one three points back of Boston and a point back of the Caps.

Instead, it's Orbitz ('Hi, I need a flight home on April 7 please..) time.

- D Noah Welch says he hopes to be back in the lineup tonight, although it's very likely Steve Montador slides back to D and plays tonight instead of Welch/Magnum/Mezei. Welch hasn't been in the lineup since busting up his shoulder fighting in Montreal back on October 16...

- The fans love Alex Ovechkin here in Sunrise. Good crowd still down on the glass trying to get a glimpse of the NHL's next - he has my vote - MVP.
