"2008-09 Preseason Report Card:
Forwards: C
Defense: B
Goaltending: B
Special Teams: B
Coaching: Inc.
Management: D"

Wow. I couldnt say much to all of the stuff written, until I saw this.

Forwards, fine, I agree. Defense? You can argue its better, but ok, I can settle there. But goaltending as a B??? And saying Vokoun is nothing more than a solid goaltender who will win you more than he will lose you? With Anderson backing him up? George, this guy is smoking something strong. Vokoun was an all star, and with this defense in front of him, and having arguably the best backup behind him in Anderson, how could they both be a B? Nuts I say.

And management with a D, I think JM has done a great job actually focusing on an area, building from the net on out, rather than doing a Keenan and leaving holes all across the place.

First, thanks for your posts here and on HF Boards. They are "must read" material for Panther fans.

Second, with all of the changes to the team, no one knows how well or how poorly the Panthers will play this year.

I heard there was a scrap too, with Zack Smith edging out the Panthers player. Anyone know who the Panthers guy was?
