LIVE! Sunday Panther

Arena3 Back for Day 2 of the 2008-09 Florida Panthers season, it's 9:40 a.m. and only one player (Richard Zednik) on the ice.

Much different scene than Saturday's opener. For one, there's only about 15 people milling around Incredible Ice right now. Secondly, well, that's about it.

Will be updating this site throughout the morning, and will be live when the scrimmage kicks off around 11.

-- In case you missed it, the Miami Arena is no more. Around 8 a.m. this morning, charges were set off from the roof bringing at least that down. Didn't look like a whole lot, actually. You can see video from our good friends at CBS-4 right here.

-- And here's our take on the 'festivities.'

-- Here's the Herald story on the demolition, with quotes from some guy named 'Beezer.'

-- Here's my story in Sunday's paper regarding Jay Bouwmeester with other news and notes.

-- Story from Detroit: Jiri Fischer says he's in a good place right now.

-- Don't bet on Martin Brodeur playing in 77 games this season.

-- The Penguins have sold out 10 games this season; the Wild sold out their opener in eight minutes; you can get free tickets to the Panthers preseason game on Oct. 6 by going into Quarterdeck and asking the hostess for a voucher.

-- And speaking of Quarterdeck, the Lightning win its preseason opener, rookie Steven Stamkos getting the shootout winner as the West Coasters beat the Burghers 5-4.
