Things I have noticed as I took a few days off to recharge the old batteries. But now I'm back and here's what I have to say:
The Miami Heat have to be thankful they got to open
the season with the Sacramento Kings. Just like the Panthers had to
be quite pleased to play Atlanta in their home opener ... Think it's
going to be another playoff-less spring for the South Florida
hockey/hoop teams ...
Everyone should make a point of it to
go out and vote today. It's a good thing to do. And no, I don't care
who you vote for. Just get out there and vote ...
My favorite
kind of cheese is Sharp Cheddar. Don't ask me why, but I like it.
That Boar's Head Swiss is pretty good, too ...
Caddyshack II
may be the worst of all the IIs ... Save for World War II ... And
Major League II ... The Godfather II was pretty darned good, probably
the best of the IIs ...
Best show on TV right now might be 30
Rock, with a big nod to The Office ... And I also enjoy Baseball's
Golden Age on FSN ...
Um, and Family Guy ...
And I somehow really like Cold Case
...
The Panthers need more offense like my bank account needs
more zeros ... I need more zeros than the Panthers need goals, but
that says more about my finances then it does about their offense.
We're both in trouble. ...
Olli Jokinen must feel like he's in
Bizzaro Hockey World...the more things change, the more they stay the
same. Pro hockey in Finland must seem pretty appealing ...
Breaking
up is always hard to do. Sometimes it has to be done though. Still
sucks ...
Folks in Rochester are not real happy with the direction of their franchise under the Panthers' stewardship. After the first couple of weeks, I can't blame them ...
Got to love the story about Tomas Vokoun
trick-or-treating in his old neighborhood in Nashville. Heard the
Panthers had their Halloween party there as well. Of course, that was
at the Sommet Center on Saturday night. ...
Who doesn't love peanut butter with
some jelly? ...
People allergic to peanuts, I guess ...
Was
messed up, me defending American cars to Steve Y. the night the
brand-new Chevy Malibu blew up in St. Louis. It was a nice car. Was
...
Going to Del Taco made up for that, though ...
My
pick as the best team in college football today: Sorry Nicky Sabes,
it's Florida. The Gators are for real. Too bad they can't play Ohio
State again this January (unless it's in the Citrus Credit Card Bowl
that is) ...
I would not have a problem with a Texas
Tech-Penn State title game. Not in the least. JoePa versus Robert
Montgomery Knight? Classic ...
And yes, it appears it is
Always Sunny in Philadelphia ...
Back to hockey: The Panthers
have six available points coming on their three-game West Coast
swing. The way things are going, they need to grab four -- minimum.
And of the 600 In-n-Out drive-thrus I pass on this three-game
trip, I will attempt to visit 463 of them ... And a stop to Del Taco
is, unfortunately, on the list. Wienerschnitzel, too ...
Hello,
Jenny Craig? Call me on Monday after I get back from this West Coast
trip. I'm going to need the help. Or perhaps I could go on the Chris
Berman diet ...
Go out and vote people ...
More hockey news later this afternoon ...

who, u were all over the place.
LOL
nice post though, I sense that in all those words I can get this out of it.
The Panthers are not very good

In-n-Out and Wienerschnitzel -- LOL! Can't get 'em back home, but gotta admit: quite possibly the best damned burger on the planet at the former (ask for a double-double "animal style" -- sheer debauchery), and yeah, really can't beat the corn dogs at the latter (speedy and tasty--and highly portable). Thanks for the crack-up this morning. Go Cats!

Double Double?????? 4x4 animal style...thats the way to do it.
I will be at the L.A. game. Sucks to be on the west coast when your a Panther fan. But hey... i guess right now it just sucks being a panther fan anywhere.....
See ya at the game GR

Enjoy the game Matt and dont laugh too hard when you see them play live. They are a horrible AHL team at best.
Posted by: ARR | November 04, 2008 at 12:18 PM
Two things, GR:
1) Try Cabot Private Stock Sharp Cheddar
2) Any word on Weiss' expected return date?

Where is Murph and Catfan? I would love to hear the positive spin that they will put on this team now. Newsflash to the Panthers (non NHL fans) the product they put on the ice here would not be tolorated in any other NHL arenas accept ours. This team has NO threat on offense. Until JM is let go and Cohen puts a hockey operation president in there it will NEVER change. This is embarrasing to watch and as far as I am concerned we are the worse franchis in sports. After this road trip we may be eliminated from the playoffs.

I've almost given up on the panthers after being raised as a panthers fan, idolizing this team since I was 6 years old. I'm 20 now, but I must say, being a student at UF makes it much easier to ignore the epic failures of the panthers organization when you have the football team we have up here! GO GATORS, of course they're for real.
Posted by: PanthersRule96 | November 04, 2008 at 12:28 PM
When will the organization admit their poor judgement in drafting personnel, and their lack of talent for a product?? They can't just blame it on a lack of effort because every team has stretches of ups and downs, injuries, slumps, and streaks,etc... Due to their heavy home-ending schedule, they need to at least stay close to .500 through New Year's. But if they can't do that, they lose any home fan base that they have, and the only thing bringing people in are the visiting teams and giveaways...

Well I see ARR is the new Andy, Drew, Darth Martin or whatever the F he wants to call himself today!!!!
Murphs been flying all week and hasnt had the time still I know he will back me up on this.
I havent gone anywhere, I am still right here and still rooting on MY TEAM. Am I disappointed in the last couple of games. Sure am! Am I growing somewhat impatient with some of the players. Yep sure are! Am I going to withdraw my memebership as an STH because of the last 2 games.......................................NO F'N WAY!!!!
Positive spin, well hopefully get back some of our injured. McCabe, Weiss, Campbell are all important pieces to this team. Hopefuly Stillman isn't out to long. Then lets see if they make a difference.
If not I have every faith in the current front office to do what will be necessary to shake things up and improve the team. But thats what separates me from you! I choose to live my life on the brighter side of the mountain whilst you choose to wallow in the abyss of dismay and sadness. Sucks to be you in that regard. My life is far to good to allow a couple of Panther losses to get me down. Somehow I wish you the same.
Til then.
Later!

matt:
A tip o' the hat to you, sir; a 4x4--and animal style no less--is most definitely not for the skirts among us (LMAO). Hmmm...maybe I'll get me some of that on the way home. Gotta drown my Panther-induced sorrows somehow, right?
Posted by: CA Cane | November 04, 2008 at 04:11 PM
ARR... ill try to enjoy. Ive been watching Panther games live for a long time and know what to expect... Ive seen them in. L.A. montreal, toronto, vancouver and at the bank national office center....lol I dont brag until the last minute is done.. evne if its 6-0 they still have to gift of blowing it. lol
CA CANE will you be at the game?
Posted by: matt | November 04, 2008 at 04:45 PM
That farm team in Rochester is pathetic. 1-9, fewest goals, most goals allowed, last in PK and PP. Doesn't look like there is any help down there.
BTW, Big Bang Theory is at the top of the list.

Catfan --- LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
you think third line players on NHL teams McCabe, Weiss, Campbell are actually going to make a difference? I just love how you get sucked in the we are injured and that is why we are not winning mode. This team has sucked for YEARS!!!! Why in the world would you have any faith in this front office or team? What have they done to prove this to you? Take off the blinders and look into reality please. They are a bunch of minor league players with a few veterns mixed in. I think it is great to be loyal (I have not missed a game in 8 years) but lets look at reality. The Stink again and will make every excuse in the book why they stink. Please dont get suckered into it. I am begging you!!
Posted by: ARR | November 04, 2008 at 07:31 PM
matt -- too true about our too-often "cardiac cats" (not the good way). Unfortunately won't be at the game (I'm in San Diego, bit too much of a hike).
Go Cats!

Suckered, the only sucker is the one who has nothing better to do than cry all the time. I have more in my life than that.
Bye
