Maple Leafs Aftermath ... Off to Raleigh

Barney Just throwing out a quick post this morning as I sit in Fort Lauderdale waiting for my plane to Carolina.

Unbelievable win for the Panthers last night, the first time the team ever rallied from a third-period, three-goal deficit to win a game. It's the second time in a week the Panthers have torn out the heart of the Maple Leafs; last week, Bryan McCabe's overtime goal lifted Florida to a 4-3 win after it trailed 3-1 going into the third.

Last night, Florida was down 4-1 before Nathan Horton scored; then it was Ville Peltonen and two from Richard Zednik. It was hard to tell if Richard was happy after the game, although the smile that never went away would lead one to believe he was indeed cool with the two goals.

Pete DeBoer was so fired up, he gave the team the morning off. That's why I have no real news. If I get something, will forward it.

Great comeback! However, I wouldn't expect the upper tier teams to implode the way the Leafs did last night. Hopefully, the Cats have enough firepower to beat some of the teams that they're playing later this week and next.

Gotta love that comeback. They cannot do this vs Carolina, tomorrow just like every other game is going to be HUGE.

Vokoun in tomorrow?

Better have Vokoun tomorrow and Anderson against the Rangers... Win the next two games in regulation and the Panthers move ahead of Rangers provided Caps do their job tonight.

Good article on Campbell.

What a comeback!!! I think its safe to call this team Da Comeback CATS!!!

GO PANTHERS!!!

By the weekend the Panthers could be in 6th in the East if things all go well for the CATS.

the team has been winning the games it needs to win, these next two games are big, but a bigger concern with this promise to make the playoffs.

I hope that Martin does not sacrifice the future just to make the playoffs this year. Atlanta did that 2 years ago and they went backwards fast.

If Martin cannot get Bo to commit to the team he has to get some assets because if we lose him for nothing Martin will go down as the one who approved the Luongo trade and then lost Bo for nothing.

Then we make the playoffs this year and go down fast next year.

This promise to make the playoffs and telling Martin he will be fired if we don't make the playoffs is extremely dangerous for the long term growth of this team. Let's hope that Martin puts the continued improvement of this team over his own job security

ticket holder trading for the sake of trading doesn't work. What hurt Atlanta was trading a good young D in Coburn for an old used up Alexei Zhitnik. Boumeester helps the team trading for an old defenseman or a draft pick is a waste. You trade him ONLY if a team gives you a top offensive forward(that can help now), a prospect and 1st round draft pick. Otherwise you keep him. Getting in the playoffs should be the number one priority not thinking about the future. You sound like you want the team to fail. Wake up and smell the coffee, Panthers are making a real push to get into the playoffs, I would rather get into playoffs than get another draft pick and dream about the future. The future is now. Everytime someone brings up the Luongo trade it shows they are thinking about the past and past players. Wake up the Panthers are a good team put togther by Jacques Martin. What ever your past dislikes for Martin are, get over it. This team is good. All four lines produce, the goaltending is as good as any, the D is solid and when Allen gets back it will even be better. It has been along time, relax and enjoy the playoff push, I am.
