Panthers Den of Honor to Fete Torrey, Vanbiesbrouck and Bure

Torrey The Florida Panthers will hold a Bill Torrey Tribute Night on Oct. 23 when the Panthers play the New York Islanders.

The team will also have appearances from goalie John Vanbiesbrouck (Nov. 10 vs. Toronto) and forward Pavel Bure (TBA).

“The entire Panthers organization, through General Partner Cliff Viner and General Manager Dale Tallon, is committed to reconnecting with and honoring it’s past wherever possible,” said President & COO Michael Yormark. “The South Florida Hockey Den Of Honor Series presented by ADT is the perfect way for our franchise to recognize some of it’s greatest players and contributors, while also giving our fans the opportunity to show their appreciation.”
Bill Torrey Tribute Night will honor original Team President, current Alternate Governor and Hockey Hall of Fame member Mr. William A. Torrey with a special pre-game banner-raising ceremony, South Florida Hockey Den of Honor case dedication, in-game tribute, and more as the Cats take on his former team the New York Islanders.

“It will be a special night when the entire Florida Panthers organization honors a hockey legend and wonderful man in Bill Torrey,” said Panthers General Partner Cliff Viner. “Bill has become a great friend and everyone in this organization owes him a great debt of gratitude for what he has given to the Panthers franchise. I’m sure Saturday, Oct. 23 will be an evening that none of us will ever forget, and we hope that Bill will cherish these memories for the rest of his life.”

Vanbiesbrouck and Bure will be honored with a special pre-game ceremony, Den Of Honor fan appearance and various other initiatives.

The South Florida Hockey Den Of Honor Series presented by ADT is the latest example of the Panthers organization’s efforts to honor and reconnect with its past including Den of Honor Weekend 2010 and the hiring of former Cats Mike Santos (Asst.
