No Charity from NHL: Florida Panthers Left Out of All-Star Game

Boallstar4 The Florida Panthers have been minimally represented at All-Star Games in the past -- but one was better than none.

Barring injury, the Panthers will have no one on either All-Star team when the game is held at the end of the month in Raleigh.

Evgeny Dadonov will represent the franchise as part of the rookie team.

The Panthers have had at least one player in an All-Star Game save for 1998 in Vancouver.

Tomas Vokoun, David Booth and Bryan McCabe were all on the official All-Star ballot but the trio received an embarrassingly low number of votes.

If the NHL had a rule -- like baseball -- where each team had to be represented in the All-Star Game, which player from Florida would you pick? Vokoun? Mike Santorelli? Stephen Weiss?

I have a feeling if the game wasn't in Carolina Vokoun would have beaten out Ward.

not a surprise at all, who is really having an all star year (except for maybe Vokoun).

As DeBoer said he wishes he had the problems of other teams where they are complaining about the lakc of scoring and they are 20-30 points ahead of the highest panther scorer

For years we have lacked a first line center, winger or defensemen.

We enter every game where the best player in ability is on the other team.

We're not the only ones. The Sabres, Coyotes and Islanders don't have anyone in the lineup either. Who's surprised? You can't put Vokoun and Ryan Miller in goal for the ASG every year.

Good for Dadonov. I see the future namesake of the Panther team. At least it is a forward not a goalie or Dman.

This could also mean what we all know is true.... that all of the Panther veterans are up for grabs for the right price. Cant Blame Tallon, when the veteran players that have returned from injury, have only shown that they cant finish...O-S-L-E-Z....

Bring back Bill Thomas, at least he was wililng to go to the net, and not skate around in circles.

Well you can't really complain about the Isles as they have some really good young talent in Tavares and Okposo (and Grabner too, hee hee!) The same goes for the Sabres. The Coyotes made the playoffs last year and are sort of rebuilding this year. Point is those teams are all ahead of us in terms of talent already. We don't deserve an all-star b/c no one is worthy, save maybe Vokoun, of that honor. It just once again shows why we are bottom feeders - lack of talent.

Dennis Wideman.

Vokoun had a place in the game, but I don't see anybody else.

Why does the name Grabner sound familiar?

No All Star representative = No talent on the roster. Why do the Panthers keep the same scouting staff year after year? Obviously something is broken.

What does Horton, Jovanovski, Bowmeester, Luongo, and Anderson all have in common??
They were all traded by the inept Panthers, and all of these NHL players are in the 2011 All Stars game, however the Panthers do not have one player in the game..
