From Bob McKenzie's Twitter account (@TSNBobMcKenzie):
The Panthers agree to terms with forward Jack Skille on a two-year deal with an annual cap hit of $825,000.
Skille, who came to the Cats from Chicago in a midseason deal, was a restricted free agent.
The Panthers have already resigned RFA Keaton Ellerby and are supposedly in talks with Mike Santorelli.
RFAs Steve Bernier and Byron Bitz aren't expected to return next season.
I'm out of town for the holiday weekend but will be updating this site much more frequently in the coming days.
Time to get back to hockey talk Panthers fans...

I'm sure that all those UFA's out there are demanding that their agents get in touch with Tallon & sign at the stroke of Midnight on 7/1 knowing that Jack (Not Much) Skille has reuped with the Panthers. I'm sure that being on the same team, or (G-d forbid) the same line as ol' Jack will be THE decisive factor in the minds of those UFA's.

love this guy, if he could only put up points. he really is a horse though. and if youve read the blog on nhl with tallon sounds like were drafting either RNH or huberdeau. DT says last year was about size and character this years about speed and skill

NHL Home Ice Power Play says Kevin Dineen is the new coach of the panthers

Wow Season Ticket Holder, you're right.
Seems like an off-the-radar kind of choice, I thought they'd go with more of a veteran coach after Deboer. But Dineen always seemed like a character player in the 90's (with the stupid Flyers anyway), and was named AHL coach of the year recently. Might just be the right choice.

Why Ellerby a 1-year deal and Skille a 2-year deal? Don't get me wrong- I liked that Skille was throwing his body around left and right, but I thought Ellerby played better in his position that Skille did at his position and corresponding salary. I hope he scores some goals next season.

Tallon lovers Skille. Let's hope we see why this season. Was unimpressed last year except for a game or two.
