Benefit Game Saturday in Coral Springs: FAU vs. South Florida Firefighters

Fauhockey The men's hockey team at Florida Atlantic will be hosting a charity hockey game to benefit the Chris Evert Children's Hospital in Fort Lauderdale as well as the In Jacob's Shoes Foundation on Saturday afternoon.

FAU will be taking on the South Florida Bomberos, a group of hockey-playing firefighters. The game is being played in honor of the tenth anniversary of 9/11.

Bomberos The game will be played at the Panthers IcePlex in Coral Springs with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m. -- only a few hours after the Panthers rookies leave the ice.

Admission is free, but donations will obviously be welcomed for these fine organizations.

The event will feature a nice silent auction, a raffle and a Panthers game day experience offer.
