We all know that center Shawn Matthias doesn't have a signed contract with the Panthers just yet, but that doesn't mean he's not working out with his teammates nor does it mean he'll miss camp.
Florida has tendered Matthias a contract, and as a restricted free agent, he remains property of the team.
As I wrote last week, the Panthers aren't offering Matthias a one-way deal. Instead, Mike Santos said, Matthias is being offered a two-way contract because of the competition at the forward position.
“Nothing is signed yet, but I have to do the same things I would do if I were signed. I'm still the property of this team,'' Matthias said on Wednesday. “I'm going about my business and prepare. This isn't going to bring me down, not going to get in my head. Yeah, it's been a long summer and I've thought about it, but you hire people to take care of those things.''
Surprised it's September and no contract?
“Yeah, I hoped it would have been done quicker,'' he said. “I trust my agents, they are working on it. That's what you have to have, trust in them. I really don't know what's going on. I'm staying out of it.''

Hope he has not got the same agant as TVO
