The game: This is the season opener for each team, with the Islanders sending out goalie Al Montoya against Florida's Jose Theodore.
The Islanders won the final two games of the four-game series against Florida last year as the Panthers were in free-fall mode.
Florida snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 2-1 win against Washington in its season finale. Since losing to the host Islanders on Feb. 21, Florida has lost 19 of its past 24 games.
