Miami Herald Florida Panthers Preview Section

Photoshoot Here is a sneak peek of what will become the cover of The Miami Herald's annual NHL Preview Section.

It hits your local newsstand on Thursday; will probably be online tonight. But, why not spend 50 cents on the hard copy? It's sure to be a collectible!

In the section is a story on the new-look Panthers from your favorite Miami Herald hockey writer not named David J. Neal, a column from Gregory Cote, team-by-team capsules as well as player capsules.

We also have a new feature that I will keep alive during the season called 'What's In That Number?'

For instance, this is why Mike Weaver wears No. 43:

“They gave me this number in my first training camp with Atlanta so I kept it. It's a reminder of the road it took to get to the NHL. Looking at that 43 reminds me how lucky I am every day.''

We will also have predictions from around the NHL on who will hoist Lord Stanley's Cup this coming summer as well as where the Panthers will finish in the Eastern Conference standings.

Hope you give it a look.
