Monday's Florida Panthers Notebook: Canucks Kicks off Big Stretch for Cats

The Florida Panthers open up a tough stretch of games tonight with the defending President Trophy/Western Conference champs in town.

The Panthers went through a light skate today with a handful of players not taking part.

The Canucks had a very light skate with only a handful of players taking part.

After tonight, the Panthers are off until the Penguins come to town on Friday. Then the defending Cup champs are here next Monday.

Then three games in Colorado, Chicago and Winnipeg.

-- Brian Foster has been recalled from San Antonio as Jacob Markstrom tweaked his surgically repaired knee on Saturday.

Kevin Dineen says the team is hopeful it's nothing serious. Dr. John Uribe is going check him out tonight at the arena.

So, Scott Clemmensen is in versus one Roberto Luongo.

-- Scottie Upshall worked out with the team today and is going up to Philly to be checked out by noted sports hernia expert Dr. William Meyers. 

Upshall says his hip/groin/sports hernia/core injury is feeling better and thinks that if he's cleared to play by Meyers, he's well on his way to being back.
