MARKSTROM BACK TO SAN ANTONIO

The Panthers sent goalie Jacob Markstrom back to San Antonio on Monday.

It's safe to say it wasn't performance-based as he stopped 65 of 71 shots and gave up three goals in losses to both Pittsburgh and Boston.

Without him, things could have been a lot worse.

Regardless, the Panthers probably have a roster move - or two - to make as Kris Versteeg and Scottie Upshall are close to coming back and skated again today in Coral Springs.

And the Panthers sure could use some scoring. I think Jose Theodore is going to be fine once he's put back in there tomorrow against the Penguins.

-- The Panthers will have a rare morning skate at the Coral Springs Iceplex on Tuesday.

The free workout starts at 10:30. The Penguins are still scheduled to hold their skate in Sunrise on Tuesday. That is close d to the public.

DT HAS GOT SOME DECISIONS TO MAKE

DINEEN IS AN IDIOT! THIS IS THE TIME TO GO WITH MARKSTROM AND HIS SP WAS GREAT OVER 2 GAMES. FLORIDA IS NOT MAKING THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR SO TRADE THEODORE NOW AND GO WITH THE MARKSTROM/CLEM FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR. MARKSTROM WILL THEN BE EVEN MORE PREPARED TO TAKE THE FULL TIME REINS NEXT SEASON

Theo - No trade clause
Weiss - No trade clause
Kuba - no trade clause

Tallon's hands are tied unless they want to leave dodge. Dineen does not control who is sent or brought up to the NHL from San Antonio. That's is all Tallon.

If you want to blame someone, blame Tallon.

Weiss is a franchise player and in a contract year. Not Dineen's fault that Weiss forgot to show up this season.... Weiss apparently decided to drink and surf in the off season instead of train. Blame Weiss not Dineen. Weiss is blowing millions and milllions of dollars on his poor play.

Welcome Timmons!

It was a mistake from the start to bring him up. He gives up 6 goals in two games totally not his fault but doing this up and down act could ruin a prospect. Look at Repik, totally ruined him. Not saying he was an NHL talent but it's just the point of how horrible this organization is.

Making the same mistakes year after year with these young kids.

TALLON IS THE ONLY PERSON TO BLAME FOR THIS SEASON. He talks about skill and wanting a team that is exciting and score goals. Do we see that? NOPE, WE HAVE THE LOWEST SCORING TEAM ONCE AGAIN IN THE NHL. WE GIVE UP THE MOST GOALS TOO.

TOP 5 PICK HERE WE COME. TALLON YOU ARE AN IDIOT. STILL NO TOP LINE IN FLORIDA, HAVEN'T HAD ONE SINCE 1996. WE HAVE NOT HAD ONE HIGHLY SKILLED PLAYER SINCE BURE. THAT WAS 14 YEARS AGO.

Worst organization, no one really cares. love the empty seats at the BAT. love it!!!

I hate to say it, but if Weiss isn't hurt, then he's jumped the shark. All players are at their best when in a contract year. It's too bad, because I've appreciated his loyalty.

Kuba is not worth his contract. He's turned out to be a 4-year bust. Tallon should of just resigned Jason Garrison.

BTW- this is the 3rd year of Tallon's "blueprint," and we're worse this year than last. I think Tallon is waiting for Versteeg and Upshall to return before pulling the trigger on a trade. Not that he's patient for the team to start winning...no...he wants to try to trade Upshall.

Anyone who knows anything about this game should know that after a decade of bad management we finally have arguably the best GM in hockey and a future.
To holler about changes and firings and stating we have no talent and top lines etc is just incompetent drivel.

That we are not doing so well is really not that difficult to understand. 1) we over performed last year which was acknowledged by everyone, however great 2)we have had a lot of key injuries which has resulted in a slow start and subsequent confidence drop. Last year we had confidence this year so far, not so much.
We are a young inexperienced team that has not adapted to this shortened season well. It happens.

Reality is that Tallon's blue print was to really start to pay off next year when we have most of our talented prospects in the lineup.
This shortened season is a crap-shoot as it does not follow conventional formulas.

I know it is tough to be patient after our surprise success last season and the drop this season but to start asking for Tallon's head and calling names is just infantile.

WE SUCK - please take your thumb out off your mouth and try to be more informed.

Peps your comments were the only ones worth reading. These haters aren't true hockey fans. Several factors for Panthers record this season: Injuries,Goalies have been inconsistent, defense has struggled with zone outlets, and number one - power play has been dismal. Positives are Drew Shore and Huberdeau and Tallon's patience to let the other prospects develop in the minors and not mortgage the franchise like in the past. Still could do some damage if we win some divisional games coming up.

Peps - generally you're correct, but I disagree that we are a young and experienced team. Yes, we have a 2nd line of youngsters, but unlike the past, I think we've got a healthy mix of young and old. Look at how many players on the current roster have played deep into the playoffs or won a Stanley Cup?

Bergenheim- deep in playoffs with Tampa;
Flash - deep in playoffs with the Crapitals;
Goc - deep in playoffs with Sharks;
Kopecky - Stanley Cup winner with Blackhawks;
Campbell - Stanley Cup winner with Blackhawks;
Jovo - Stanley Cup contender with Cats. Canucks;
Kuba - deep in playoffs with Wild.
Versteeg - Stanley Cup winner with Blackhawks;
Theo, Clemmer, Kovalev - nuff said.

Tallon made good moves with us and he's made bad moves with us. This is Tallon's 3rd year, and he will should be judged accordingly. We're allowed to critique him too.

Can we really call this his 3rd year? 2... 2.5 maybe?

Our 1st line was the best in the NHL the first 25% of last season, and this year they're terrible. You have to remember, we had Stteger, Weiss, Goc, and Bergy out early (not to mention Gubs) this season, and we probably won't recover from that. What you gonna do???

This season is simply a bridge to next year, and players like Hubes, Shore, Mueller, Buds, Markstrom will only benefit from getting their feet wet but not hitting the wall.

And by the way EJ, Kuba has a 2 year deal (almost 1 year now), and Garrison was going to sign in Van. regardless. Dude wanted to play at home, which was his right as a free agent.
