March Madness has struck the Panthers, although most players admitted they weren't very educated when filling out their NCAA college basketball brackets -- ones for entertainment purposes only, of course.
The Panthers have more of a rooting interest in the upcoming collegiate ice hockey regionals as seven prospects will participate.
Florida's prospects include Minnesota's Nick Bjugstad and Kyle Rau, North Dakota's Corban Knight and Rocco Grimaldi, Eddie Wittchow (Wisconsin), Sam Brittain (Denver) and Michael Matheson (Boston College).
Panthers forward Drew Shore will be watching his Denver Pioneers take on New Hampshire on Friday. Brothers Nick and Quentin Shore are now playing on a line together and hope to get DU into the Frozen Four.
The NCAA finals will be held in Pittsburgh this season.
"I'm excited and happy we don't have a game that night. I don't get to watch a lot of their games,'' said Drew Shore, who left Denver after three successful seasons last spring.
"I don't know where I will watch it. But I will be. I'm excited about it."
