SURGERY FOR JOVO: Ed Jovanovski to Undergo Hip Surgery

Panthers captain Ed Jovanovski is scheduled to undergo season-ending hip surgery next Friday the team announced on Thursday.

Jovanovski, named Florida's captain at the end of training camp, played just six games this season because of the degenerative problem.

Things got so bad for Jovanovski this season that he flew to Europe seeking treatment.

With all these paid injured players there will be no $ left for signing a top draft, so it will be last place and trade down too. Sentinel is bs.

Taking a top draft pick is not going to affect the cap until he makes the team.
Even if he makes the team out of training camp he has to perform good enough for the first 9 or 10 games to be signed to a marginal entry level contract or he will be sent back to the minors for another year.
NHL is good that way that you have to prove you are worth a large contract before getting one.
