PANTHERS NOTEBOOK: Bjugstad Playing in Nashville?

Center Nick Bjugstad was taken off the injured reserve list on Sunday and coach Kevin Dineen said he's being considered to play Tuesday in Nashville.

Bjugstad, who suffered a concussion in a prospects game on Sept. 8, is expected to practice with the Panthers on Monday and a decision could be made on his status following that.

The Panthers were expected to have the 6-foot-6 Bjugstad start the season in the minor leagues. That could still happen, although the Panthers' offensive concerns could lead Bjugstad back to the Panthers earlier than previously thought.

"He will be an option for us on Tuesday night,'' Dineen said. "We're having that discussion. We're looking for big, strong bodies and he's a guy who fits that mold.''

-- Former Panthers defenseman Keaton Ellerby didn't play Sunday as he has been a healthy scratch by the Kings in all six games this season.

Ellerby was sent to the Kings for a late-round draft pick last season after playing 125 games with the Panthers over the course of four seasons.

-- The Panthers will practice Monday morning at the Coral Springs Iceplex at 10:30 a.m. The workout is free and open to the public.

-- Jonathan Huberdeau limped off the ice after apparently being struck by a puck in the second period. Huberdeau did return.
