BOSTON -- Coach Peter Horachek said center Brandon Pirri was expected to join the team Monday in Boston. The Panthers didn't practice on Monday prior to Tuesday's game against the Bruins.

Pirri, acquired Sunday from Chicago for two draft picks, could play on Tuesday although that decision hasn't been made yet.

Horachek did talk about Pirri to Panthers forward Jimmy Hayes who played with Pirri in the Blackhawks' organization.

"I don't know much about him,'' Horachek said. "I've seen his stats, a couple of our guys played with him. It may be a little strange throwing him in there, but that could just be a good thing. We'll see what happens after the morning skate.''

-- Horachek said he would look into having the league review Florida's fifth goal from Sunday's 5-3 win over the Islanders. The goal was credited to Scottie Upshall, but the puck clearly went off Hayes' skate and into the net.

"What's right is right,'' Horachek said. "If it goes in, he did it. I think we should get things right.''
