Florida State has just finished its 51-7 win over Boston College. Aside from one drive at the end of the first half the Seminoles were dominant on defense today and very potent on offense.
Right now there are effectively two Florida State teams. There's the group that is 5-0 at home and has scored 49 or more points in every game this season.
Then there's the road squad which is 1-1, averaging just 23 per contest and doesn't look like the same group of players as what the Seminoles have put on the field in Tallahassee.
I'm going to be back after I go talk to players and coaches with more coverage and a full wrap-up, but for now here are three quick hitters.
-EJ Manuel had a career day, but his mistakes will also stick out on the film tomorrow. Manuel left a few things out on the field, but overall, credit him with a great day. He looked sharp when needed, connected on a lot of passes down the field and lead the Florida State offense to 51 points while putting up a career day throwing the ball. This was a good bounceback game for Manuel, who needed it.
-649 yards of total offense was also the recipe for a Florida State team that did nothing on that side of the field in the second half last week. Florida State needed a big game and they got it.
-Lamarcus Joyner had the play of the game called back, he picked off a pass, made a beautiful return and then had it called back for stepping out of bounds. Joyner was clearly winded on the play, but once again proved whether it's on D or a kickoff, he's lethal with the ball in his hands.
I've got to go interview coaches and players. I'll be back up with a wrap-up in about an hour.
For now, Final Score: FSU 51 BC 7
Passing: EJ Manuel (27-34, 439, 4TD, 2 INT)
Rushing: Devonta Freeman (8-70)
Receiving: Kenny Shaw (2-125-TD)
