Florida State was off last weekend which gave the team an opportunity to get itself a little healthier heading into this weekend's home opener with Nevada.
"When you have a long and physical camp like we did, [the bye week] came at a very opportune time for us," said Jimbo Fisher on Monday.
Florida State will likely be without starting guard Tre' Jackson on Saturday though. The junior left the Pitt game with an ankle injury and was replaced by redshirt sophomore Ruben Carter. Fisher said Thursday that he feels fine with Carter should Jackson be unable to play.
“I’m extremely confident [in Ruben]," said Fisher. "I think he’s had a good week of practice, has done some really nice things and played well in the game the other day. I feel very comfortable with Ruben.”
Junior center Austin Barron is also out for Saturday as he continues to recover from a foot injury. He should be back at practice for the Seminoles next week.
