Anderson says he's ready to play

GAINESVILLE -- Cornerback Markihe Anderson told Florida coach Urban Meyer that he will be ready to play against Troy next Saturday.

The Gators' need Anderson back in the starting line-up. Wondy Pierre-Louis replaced Anderson against Western Kentucky and coaches were not pleased. Pierre-Louis is not ready to start at cornerback.

Another reserve corner, Jacques Rickerson, is expected to add depth as well. Rickerson did not dress for Monday's game but will be available the rest of the season. Florida coach Urban Meyer called Rickerson one of the team's most improved players.

MEYER CALLS OUT LINEMEN

Maurkice Pouncey might lose his starting job this week. Meyer will challenge several offensive linemen to  battle for the position, including redshirt freshman Marcus Gilbert (Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas). Pouncey filled in for Phil Trautwein, who ails from a stress fracture in his foot.
