Pregame notes: South Florida recruits on hand

GAINESVILLE -- It seems the entire Glades Central High football team was invited to the Florida-Troy game today. The Raiders' senior recruits watched Florida's pregame drills and clapped along with Florida head coach Urban Meyer will quarterback Tim Tebow lobbed passes to Jarred Fayson, Bubba Caldwell and Co.

Glades Central is a UF town but the Raiders might be rooting for Troy today. The Trojans quarterback, Omar Haugabook is a Glades Central grad.

-Citing a Lakeland High assistant coach, The Associated Press is reporting today that Florida freshman defensive tackle John Brown was cleared by the NCAA on Friday. Brown took several high school courses this summer in the hopes of qualifying. The freshman was also diagnosed with a learning disorder during his senior year of high school.

-It rained earlier today in Gainesville. The drizzle cooled things off and a pleasant breeze now whips through Ben Hill Griffin Stadium as the Gators' marching band takes the field.
