Florida coping with loss of teammate

GAINESVILLE -- Prepartion for Florida's upcoming opponent, Kentucky, remained a side story here in Gainesville on Monday as the football team continued to cope with the loss of scout-team quarterback Michael Guilford.

Guilford, 19, died early Friday morning when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle and struck a median on Old Archer Road. Players attended an on-campus memorial service at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Monday) for Guilford and Ashley Slonina, who also died in the accident. Slonina, 20, was dating starting Florida freshman cornerback Joe Haden.

Joe Haden's mother, Zakiya, flew from Maryland this weekend to offer her son support.
